That is correct. My registar doesn't allow the option for DNS redirect. You have to contact them in order to do it. I though doing a file re-direct would be so much easier.

File redirects give you more control anyway, and are cheaper to own the domain and do a file redirect than a DNS one as most registrars charge more for the latter.

Does nobody else see the potential security flaw in this? One day when he gets banned for using some kind of hacks, he'll get angry at the community, change the URL to redirect to shock porn or something, and then not only will people think the URL is associated with Argonath, but regular members might be using that URL for some reason and get a bit of a surprise...I highly doubt Gandalf would be too happy with this.

As long as it's not seen as an official URL, anyone can redirect a URL to Argo. There's really nothing we can do about it, and as long as they aren't trying to be mean with it or abuse it in some way, then all we can do is let them share their gift with us.

Not all users who are banned are malicious. Many don't deserve more chances, yes, but there are exceptions since it's a case-by-case basis. Only time will tell on which one he is, but so far he seems to care enough about the community to spend his own money on it.
