"RP" and "Non-RP", Where is the line drawn?

Where is the line drawn for what people call "RP" and "Non-RP". I know administration has stated there is no OOC/IC in argonath but it seems that that statement is never abided by as I sometimes see situations where people try to use terms such as "RP" and "Non-RP" to defend themselves or accuse others.
So my main question is, Where is the line drawn between what people unofficially refer to as "RP" and "Non-RP"

The 'line' varies from player to player. There is no official point at all. But you can sorta tell when somebody's not trying to roleplay properly.

There are players that shoot the helluvah police officers when pulled over and say that his RP reason was "I tought u were going to rape me".

As ElMartu said, the line varies from people to people. But there are people that follow this logic:
>Cop pulls you over. SHOOT IT.
>New player asks for help. SHOOT IT.
>There is a guy growing weed. SHOOT IT.
>Police officer is helping a man bleeding on the road. RAM IT OR SHOOT IT.
>if admin complains and warns you, tell a very stupid RP reason. THEN SHOOT IT.
Like every community, there are the cool people, who like to hang out and have fun with you, and there are people that likes to make fun of everyone and have fun creating chaos around.
But if there is something I respect the most, is the fact that this is an RPG server, not DM server. So if you shoot someone for no reason, ur automatically on my shitlist.

This server follows some basic rules of Roleplaying, but with less strictness. For example, you can't force anyone to roleplay. Neither can you ruin roleplay or deathmatch.

It is foolish to use the phrase '' non - rp'' in Argonath.

Erm, a lot of us will apply the principles of RP and non-RP, and make a clear distinction between the two when we are talking. Its not enforced though, meaning an admin can't kick you for talking about stuff not linked to your IG character in any chat.

You should find that all ways of communicating with another player can be used in a court case (e.g. /pm), as we don't officially recognise a distinction between OOC and IC chat...the chats are just there to speak to varying amounts of players!

RP is trying to make everyone around you get involved in what you are doing and improvise on any situation.

Role play is when you assume a role of a character. Then it depends on ourselves how well we will play the role, therefore bad and good role play.


Bad roleplay is when you go to LSPD and shoot the cops, then run with bunny hop and die without any fear knowing that you can do it again.
