I have a 2.5MBPS wireless connection (but it never reached that high though, only about 1.7MBPS max) and recently the speed is decreasing to lower than 1MBPS.
This problem have occurred for a around a week or two now and I've tried contacting my ISP but their just taking forever to check this problem out.

Anyway it started when I couldn't even connect to the internet. Our house phone starts to have noises and we contacted the ISP.
They came over and fixed this up but I didn't notice that this left my connection to have a very slow speed.

The highest I can reach right now is about 0.60MBPS and I need some advice how to fix this up.
Been Googling a lot of things, in fact I have restored the router settings and re-manage it, didn't help.

A speed of 0.60MB/s is roughly about 5Mb/s. Meaning your Internet connection has lowered from the usual 20Mb/s down to 5Mb/s.
You sure you haven't changed the contract with them to change into a slower but cheaper internet connection?

Give them a call and tell them they've changed your connection speed to slower than purchased. Your ISP can manage the
speed from there and if you use a modem they've provided, they can also interface with the settings of it by remote.

The issue could quite possibly be with them, keep persisting and you will get through to them. Also it could potentially be your phone socket i remember experiencing a similar issue when i was with o2Broadband some years ago for me the upstairs socket was the issue. That too was causing interference/noise through the telephone.

1.7MBPS would be about right for a max speed for something that's upto 2.5MBPS. Speed is all dependent on multiple factors, Line quality/stability, how far away from the phone exchange you are, the plan you are using they may throttle you(Not around your neck obviously), other people in the area using similar services. So on and so on.
