DDOS on SAMP - 21.03.2012

Any admin+ is asked to join as soon as possible, we have a strong DDOS attack - someone spams completely the chat with logging in and out on a high speed. There's no admins online now

This is DDoS, firstly learn what DDoS is, then class attacks, saying on every server attack that is DDoS is just shit.

The spam attacks have actually managed to crash the server once.

However, DDoS attacks usually consist of larger packets being sent in a much greater quantity to the server itself instead of the SA:MP server

This way gets the player noticed, as well as annoy everyone playing

Any idiot who uses the tool will be banned so if they think they won't they can think again.

Plus the name joining flood is old nothing new we've seen it before so don't bother showing us that you can do it again

You are also forgetting the first D, "Distributed" Denial of Service, meaning more than one computer is involved or a bot-net. Typically, a computer performing a full DoS attack would not be able to sustain connecting to the server as well due to the fact of the large amount of traffic and stress already on the network card/network. I think Conroy said it well, just some kid stuck at home who can't get enjoyment out of his life any other way than to annoy the others. Even if the person did this for 3 hours straight, he could crash the SAMP scripts before it affected the server a simple restart would fix the SA:MP script, whilst a DDoS can render a server useless for hours, days or even indefinitely damage server/network hardware depending on the exent of the attack and stability of the network. So, in short I hope you now see the differences between an annoying kid in is house, and a kid with a series of computers or bot-net to attack a server.

You can see the real assholes of Argonath when this happens, they are the ones spamming n*gger and flaming thinking people wont see it due to the chat being spammed....  :poke:
