A legit reason would be, a relative passed away, and other serious issues. Trust me, the cops would NEVER put that trust into me, if it was possible to look into my criminal history, you would probably see about 500 pages of crimes I have done, I will be 100% loyal, no bullshit. If there's anything I could do for you to believe me, tell me, I'll do it.
