So let me get it right, pointing out the improvements of new iPads is your way of showing how the speed of inventing is slowing down?

Let me get it right - me pointing out that differences between old and new iPads, so far I've seen, are clearly minimal. Same goes for iPods and iPhones. This is exactly where the tech advancement stops - since, apparently, people still buy that shit. Another funny example is Call of Dooty series.

I would actually think using a camera (video calls) is actually a great improvement, not new, yes, but compared to 20 years ago, some of the people would kill (as a figure of speech) for this function; at the same time some might think it as a waste of phones' resources.

You can also still send messenger birds if you want and make fire without using matches or lighter. That doesn't say anything about the improvements what technology has went trough now is it.

The thing is that refinement of existing inventions is not the same as making a new invention.
If you make a phone that has added functionality and is lighter and thinner, it still is a phone.
A car of today is different from a car 100 years ago. Yet both are based on the same principle, and the car of today is not a new invention.
A phone is not a new invention. Wireless technology is not a new invention. The new invetions are at a lower level, in how the technology is produced. The microprocessor is based on the principle of a transistor, and there for in itself not new technology. However the technology to produce them using layers of single atoms thin can be called an invetion, as it did not exist 20 years ago.

Sometimes, posts like these lead me to wonder if kids are getting stupider on average with each passing generation. I could only fear for the world the kids of this generation would grow up in.

The traffic, its LOADED with vehicles, you cant even drive even a bit without stopping.
1.3 bil is the estimated population of india yet india only accounts for 7 percent of the world's landmass.
a 10 minute commute in the Us takes about 1.5 hours here.

and heres the worst part, this is expected to DOUBLE in the next few decades.

Yes, as in the past you couldn't phone somebody by touching spots on a wall you can choose yourself.

Gandalf is right, it's not a new invention it's just combining already made inventions which if they thought of it back when they were both invented separatly they could have done it then..
