Couldn't they tow and salvage it instead?

Good question. It looks like its faster and cheaper to sink it then towing it into a port .. What about the gas there was in the tanks ?

A Canadian salvage company tried to lay claims on it, and the Coast Guard let them have it but later decided to sink it because the salvage company's ship couldn't tow it.

Where must we go... we who wander this Wasteland in search of our better selves?

tried to lay claims on it
couldn't tow it.

Defies logic. :trust:

But in all honesty, that's a huge waste of metal.

The most important part is interacting with others and meeting people from around the world.

But in all honesty, that's a huge waste of metal.

Maybe the resources and power needed to get this ship to the docks and make the metal ready for reuse would cost more resources and power then finding and making new metal? Not saying it is good to dump metal that could be reused, but maybe it was a more logical descision.
