Note: CISPA is NOT mainly about killing piracy(but it does automatically do everything that SOPA does indirectly). Cispa is to "protect" the internet.
Meaning all your personal info(including even usernames and passwords, unencrypted!) are now shared to big corporations and all your logs are shared everywhere(what SOPA does, but on a much bigger scale). ANYTHING that harms a big corp's business is illegal, including opinions!
Your isp is gonna log the websites you go to, info you send passwords you get e.t.c, google is gonna share all its search data user based to all big corps, microsoft is gonna give away all your data too. This way, they have ALL your info, can take down ANYTHING, and the govt can just rule the internet literally.

So now, they came up with a new bill.
but this time, they asskissed the big corps.

lemme break it down for ya, if you make a blog post saying facebook is trashed your blog will be shut down(yeah).

this time, they are gonna monitor every shit, and defense property of both PRIVATE and government agencies.
meaning that big corps now have access to ALL your personal information(yeah, literally, internet at their feet).

The govt or private corps can take down anything that disrupts their business, damn it this time we may actually not win, the last time we won because we had big corps on our side, this time they are on their side...

Seriously, wtf happened to the free internet?I am starting to become a anonymous supporter now, big corps are literally taking over the internet.
First we, the people make the internet.
Then giant corporations join the internet.
Everything is free, the internet is like your escape from life
Then they make stuff on the internet, and then sell it
Then they want everyone to go through trouble so their stuff isnt stolen
Then they wanna control the internet, so they can do whatever they want and we get f**ked

You are incredibly naive if you think that the government and corporations didn't already have access to this information. the Internet was created by the US government as a form of communication in the event of a global war, we the so called "Free people" did not create the internet. Corporations create the services we use online, so they already have our personal information. If you have nothing to hide why would you be worried about the government watching you any ways?

First we, the people make the internet.

Actually no, the internet was first developed by the US government as a means of un-interruptible communication in the event of a nuclear war, it only developed in to a tool for the general public when the world realised its potential.

Then giant corporations join the internet.

most of the websites you use on a daily basis are created by corporations, you are in fact using it to play a game that is made by a large gaming developer, before business used the internet it was nothing but a means of government communications....

Everything is free, the internet is like your escape from life

No, everything is not free, if this was the case we would be living in a happy world of rainbows and faries. The internet is not some magical world where we go to escape the troubles of reality. if you feel that way then you should get some help. The internet is a tool for information, recreation and business not some alternate dimension

Then they make stuff on the internet, and then sell it

"oh no, someone is trying to make a profit and earn money from a service that you don't even need to buy if you don't want to". Really bud? people start companies to make money, people who pirate things for free are committing a crime, its no different then walking in to a store and stealing a game or music CD from there. If you created something and tried to make a living from it, only to make no money because people are pirating it, im sure you would feel differently.

Then they want everyone to go through trouble so their stuff isnt stolen

ummmm, again... how is this a problem? Are you trying to say its alright to steal?

Then they wanna control the internet, so they can do whatever they want and we get f**ked

back to my first point. the government can alredy do all this monitoring stuff, corporations can get your information if you use their services. What are you angry about? Now you cant pirate game sand music as easily? Its the same as theft and it makes you a criminal, good for the government and the corporations for having a way to get their lost revenue back. The internet should not be some lawless back country where people think they can do what they want because they hide behind a computer monitor.

Let me say that I am fully against piracy, and I believe that if you enjoy a product or make money with it you should always pay. However....
In 1980 the IBM PC was introduced. It became hugely popular because it had one advantage over the other operating systems of the time : You could freely exchange data and programs between one machine and another running the same OS. This might surprise you, but before PC-DOS/MS-DOS every PC had its own system and you could not exchange between two different types of PC running the same OS.

So what caused MS-DOS to be the most popular and getting almost a monopoly ? Free exchanging of software.

Internet was originally (apart from the US Government owning it and Russian Government leeching) a place for nerds. It became popular by the time people could store and exchange their music, pictures and software. Instead of having to go to a fair, or exchanging cassette tapes and disks with friends, you could exchange with someone in another country.

So what made the internet big ? Free exchange of music, images and software.

It is laughble to think that people are pirating because of the internet. Before the internet grew big people were already pirating movies, music and software. The scale has changed, but at the same time the turnover and profit of the companies has. Because of the exchange of information a good product is sold many times more as it could have been without it.

As currently people have less money, and there for spend less on luxury goods, corporations see their turnover stagnating, and profit going down. This means they are looking for something to blame it on (other than their own greed) and trying to lock the market hoping this will earn them back what they lost.

Reality is they should do the opposite as they are trying. Instead of locking the market, embrace it.

Only one problem. The ISPs and Governments don't have enough man power to monitor every single person's IP usage. It's virtually impossible with the amount of data streaming..

Internet Censorship is total bullshit and is merely nothing more than a pathetic attempt by politicians and executives to control the general populace.

The most important part is interacting with others and meeting people from around the world.

I will admit it, I am a pirate. I have pirated hundreds of games, music albums, software and films. These pieces of downloaded media have given me a better feel for each product than any demo or trial ever could, and has resulted in me buying 90% of the items I pirate. That's a higher rate than I would have bought if I hadn't pirated to test it out in the first place.

Your saying that like because you bought 90% of the stuff it was all okay... lets think about the other 10%, and even if you bought it you still illegaly got a copy of whatever you downloaded.

I may have gotten an illegal copy, but that copy lead me to make a proper purchase, which is what developers, artist and creators want. As for the other 10%, those are the usual culprits. Either material you cannot buy without an incredibly high import charge and work arounds and the incredibly over the top priced software which no normal person can afford for personal usage.

Companies don't realize that even in the "pirate" sector of the market, there is money to be made.

As I said there, I've spent more money on software/games/movies/music than I would have without having acquired a copy before hand to see how it is.
