(Sources: WMUR)
This ended about 6 hours about 40 minutes from where I live, this is the first time an incident of this degree has took place in my state.

5 Police officers, along with multiple others arrived at a house in a small town of Greenland, New Hampshire, United States, to issue a search warrant on the property, as they attempted to gain entry to the house a series of shots were fired from a man with in the house, critically wounding 2, wounding 2 others and killing another. A standoff took place as they identified that a woman was inside the house, and they were unable to determine if she was a hostage, or someone helping the man inside.

After a large standoff, and the house surrounded by local police, SWAT, state police and FBI; they sent a robot into the house two find two dead inside from apparent self inflicted wounds.

The saddest part of this whole incident is the officer who was gunned down was the Chief of Greenland Police department, who was set to retire on April 20th, only 8 days away. As of now, 2 officers still are in ICU (Intensive Care Unit) and the other two have been released.

To give some background to why this is shocking news for our state, and even the rest of the United States looking at the whole situation, in the past our state has been rated years in a row 'the safest state to live', yet in the past month there has been two officer involved shootings and in the past year a handful of murders, one of them including a young girl who's killer remains unknown.

However, this isn't just here, I see a spike of violence increasing all over the world, this is just our wake up call.

Does it really take you so many people to storm a house with two rogues?

I'd hate to think what'd be needed if this was in a bigger scale.

Eu corro fujo desta sombra / Em sonhos vejo este passado
E na parede do meu quarto / Ainda está o seu retrato
Eu quero ver pra não lembrar / Pensei até em me mudar / Lugar qualquer que não exista / O pensamento em você

They didn't know, and still unaware if the other person (the woman) was their willingly or was their against her will. Which is why they just didn't rush in. They had more than enough force to move in, only that particular fact kept them from breaching in.

They probably knew it would be dangerous, but obviously didn't expect such an outcome.

Very sad indeed.

More people is not only a preparedness thing, it is also a tactic to intimidate the people in the building. If they look outside and see they are very outnumbered they will most likely surrender. You need many officers to secure the scene, evacuate surrounding buildings etc etc. Its an amazing demonstration of multi-agency teamwork.

I am rather concerned at the number of law enforcement victims in this stand off however, Im not sure if it was lack of intel or just a situation going bad, but that number of shot officers is not acceptable even in much larger situations.

Many are already questioning this fact, as this man they were presenting the warrant to has been arrested before on drug and weapons charges. People are stating they should have been more cautious and more prepared for the incidents.

Very true, also earlier in the day the US Vice President as a few miles away in another town, so many of these agencies were already present in the southern area. This allowed for a faster response.

In latest news:
Another officer has been shot in northern New Hampshire and has a minor gun shot wound to the arm (possibly the hand) while attempting to apprehend a man wanted the man opened fire at the officer, and the officer returned fire and was shot in the arm. The man was then gunned down by fellow officers.

Tedd, to add to your story, something similar happened over here on this side of the country too. In Modesto, California, there was a crazy, (and heavily mishandled), standoff that led to a Stanislaus County Sheriff's Deputy and one civilian to be shot and killed, and others injured, as well as a fire breaking out. These standoffs seem to be growing daily...

Yea Sugar, its shocking the rise of these types of crime. In full seriousness it makes me wanna move to a cabin in the middle of the woods. This recent trend is unreal and just beyond understandable reason. My grandma explained to me a while back about how when she was growing up the news almost never spoke about crime, now the only things that don't involve a victim of some sort is sports and the weather.

This has never been a problem before in our state (guns etc) and we have one of the most relaxed gun laws; anyone 18+ who is not a felon can own a handgun all the way to a semi-automatic rifle without a license (unless they want to conceal it). But the past year its really making people question the gun control in our state and most definitely the safety of everyone + our dedicated police officers.

It's a procedure in tons of countries all over the world, although British police are rarely seen with guns they still use a small army of cops to breech a house in full riot gear, anyway I feel sorry as f**k for that cop that died, he was about to retire aswell that just makes it even worse..

Did any SA:MP criminals go missing recently ? Seems a familiar tactic....

I can back this up. The reason why it's done is because multiple officers are covering multiple angles as one unit when breaching the building. If a suspect is hiding in a closet or behind a door, and they check the main part of the room first where they would expect to see the suspect first, but didn't have someone else getting the other angles at the same time, then they could end up being shot from behind. It's all done as a team for safety reasons.

Exactly, if it was just 2 cops storming alone then they suddenly find themselves surrounded by 5 thugs in a house, what are they going to do? I wouldn't have it any other way.
