The Pirate Bay has set up a Swedish domain that the original redirects to in order to help prevent blocks and get around legal actions. The "Promo Bay" thing is something the website does from time to time to promote free media from the "little guys", such as home-based bands, local artists, amateur films, etc., often replacing their logo with a promotional image related to what they are currently promoting. They are trying to change their image in the public's [legal] view by showing that they are more than just a piracy website.

Odd as BT own Plusnet. o.O
I changed over from o2/BE (where it was blocked) to Plusnet quite recently. I was under the impression that BT would block it for Plusnet users hence the suprise.  :hurray:

It's hard for ISP's to actually block it as when one goes down another five proxy sites pop up, so it's difficult to keep on top of it. I doubt they'll ever 'banish' TPB.

There is no way The Pirate Bay is going down as long as the Political Pirate Party in Sweden tunnels it, it's illegal for police to take it down as it will count as political censorship! That's why they never shut down Pirate Bay at the momen!  :evil:

Here that is overwritten by copyright laws as TPB is distributing content with no money going to the makers. Apparently the companies want money so the courts have blocked it.
