So, I have seen this happen several times. Where cops force you to turn the engine off by using /engine command after pulling you over. (some screens below)

According to Kojak's post.
http://www.argonathrpg.eu/forum/index.php?topic=80617.msg1272296#msg1272296

I take it as its not allowed, but each time reported to an admin, I (and I'm sure other players too) get told that its allowed.

So to simply put it.

Is force usage of /engine by cops allowed or not?

It is not allowed, Kojak has said it is not allowed, if an administrator tells you it is allowed, I have nothing to say.
Forcing Roleplay is now allowed, forcing someone to do /engine is counted as forcing Roleplay.

They can't force you to turn off your engine with the command, you can do how you please.

Its pointless anyway...normally they'll make you get out of the vehicle too! When you get back on, you can drive off anyway...all /engine does is make people lazy

Salt and hate won't take us anywhere.
And we do not try to be real life, as why would you ever play real life if you have one ? We play the GTA universe, and our players should try to live in the GTA world, not the real one.

Yes, but why admins don't take any action on it? As it can be seen in the screenshots.. Not blaming anyone tho.

And if it does not belong to /report. Where must one report regarding this?

Done that too, Even if you simply roleplay it, with /me command. They FORCE and MAKE you turn it off with /engine command.

Basically, I'm not complaining, I'm not even talking of myself alone. This should really be taken into consideration and implemented as a rule. Or it'll continue to happen.

Obviously the admin was not aware of the topics regarding this before, or had simply forgotten. Should the admin read this they will now know. As Kojak said, if it becomes a problem report it.

Forcing /engine is the same as force /gu. You are not forced to use any scripts if you can use /me command or something else that will describe the same thing. You do "/me turns off the engine." aswell /hail (1-4). I rather see fellow players use the animations and /me texts.

Forcing roleplay is not allowed - Refer to that point if you getting questioned about this sort of things in the future.

True, you may use /hail to surrender, but for safety sakes, let's say to prevent a rogue cop from running up and shooting you while surrendered, do /gu.

As for the /engine being forced, it has been answered in the previous topic as Ted stated.
An answer has been given.

You're allowed not to use /gu to surrender? Whoa, I've been almost killed for refusing to use the command plenty of times. Good to know.

Whenever I surrender, I do /hail. It has worked most of the times.
But I guess it is depending on who you are facing in the direct situation.

9/10 time sif you let a suspect RP surrender they turn and kill you a few minutes later. I would be more open to the idea if I could trust people more but experience has taught me otherwise.

I prefer /hail as well. But I agree to the last line. I did /hail yesterday Pancher was around so I didn't got shot. It was outside LSPD. Had about 4 cops aiming at me screaming at me to /gu.  :devroll:

Pancher is one great friend to me, he's also an excellent role-player, so I don't doubt that a second.
I recommend high ranked or fellow officers who knows about this rule to tell the unaware individual, so am I once I'm in a situation with a policeman whose awareness is blurry.

Tho, I'm a SAPD Instructor myself, I'm not sure what's being taught these days. (probably because I never gave more than one session)

But I remember, during my training, I was taught that giving up in RP, holds just as much importance as /gu and we are not allowed to force the usage of /engine. It was also asked in my theory exam. The recent incidents really make me wonder, what's happening these days? Do we need to sticky stuff like this too for the new officers? It should be common sense on a RP server.

:ps: Check the screens for the chat as well. It was all force usage of /engine by the officer, with threatening to /su for failure to comply.
