Teaching people how to use /c report

Another idea that has crossed my mind (and eyes, unfortunately) is a way of stopping people from typing/spamming "HACKER" in-game whenever they see one since:

• 1. The hacker ultimately ends up turning off his hacks, which will anger both admins and the people accusing the cheater even more.
• 2. The chat-box is being filled with useless lines.
• 3. Some people like to moan a lot about admins not doing their job right, but in reality they do theirs no better.

My idea itself would be to code in a regex detection for any word related to "hack" which would either spam or just inform the player that typed it about the beautiful command called /c report, which many seem to ignore nowadays.

An example (tested on my own):

If approved I'd rather have it work under the following conditions:

• The user sees the message when not an admin.
• If the user gets the message, they won't get it again for at least 5 minutes.
• If the user uses the word "hack" or "hacker" three or more times in 30 seconds, they're forced to see the message again.
• Any message containing "admin," "never/don't/doesn't/won't," and "do job" sends a message saying Forward reports to /c report or [email protected] and stop whining.

Then it would need to be displayed in a more powerful way, such as the message sent 3-4 times consecutively + an announcement per time.

If the user uses the word "hack" or "hacker" three or more times in 30 seconds, they're forced to see the message again.

That and muting for 30 seconds would look great.

This is just a must for the server.

/c report is a lot more useful than one might think at first.

Every single report (provided that an available Admin is online) is looked at and some form of action is taken - be it on the grounds to evaluate, assess the situation or to fix it.


We get quite a lot of people shouting things on chat, when they would be best off saving their time through /c report.
If we can get this system to work efficiently, might prove to be useful in the long run.

One thing that seems like a downside would be that you can't say "hacker/hack" without receiving the message - though Stormeus's 5 minute control might be a good solution.

Unsure, but I think it'd have to have a certain string of those specific words all in one sentence to trigger the message.
