It is more than necessary.
The once great SAPD slowly got f*cked up by lack of discipline and not following procedures.
There was no lack of discipline in the patrol. The discipline was exceptional. No one rulebroke and many criminals were stopped. We helped block off a road for the fire services, offered assistance to locals and upheld the laws.
ARPD were happy because they got to patrol and learn from SAPD.
SAPD were happy because it was a change of pace, a fun patrol but most of all there was great teamwork.
The civilians were happy because it was an imaginative roleplay idea. They could actually RP with cops in a new way.
No laws were broken and criminals were stopped. The patrol was educational and fun to boot.
So what is big problem?
- SAPD were "patrolling" in bus. We did this because no civilian would expect 10 clowns to jump out a bus when we stopped. It was a great "WTF?" moment.
- SAPD Had clown uniforms. I got them cheap. Very cheap. All cops would identify themselves to civilians and showed their shiny badges. Good discipline. At no point did we run around making jokes. The officers spoke to civilians proffesionally and acted accordingly to the situations at hand.
So you speak about discipline. Sure we broke some very minor procedures, but in the process made a very positive impact to the server, ARPD, SAPD and civilians.
The ONLY players that were mad, were the RL RP cops. They are the only ones complaining. Yet I saw no one else can be bothered to make patrols themselves. Get off your asses and make your own patrols before you complain about proffesionalism or procedure. Get off your desk and show how its done.
LEAD BY EXAMPLE.
That so called 'Special patrol' basically was trolling while officers were pinned down and that huge amount of group failed to respond to any calls. If you create a patrol and have almost half officers, who are currently ingame, with you then you should keep in mind that you must help the officers too, who are in trouble. And also, I belive this topic would suit in ARPD forum.
Show the evidence where anyone asked my patrol for backup and we declined to help? Or stop making stories
And where in our patrol did we troll? Where we taught a badass gangster a lesson? Where we blocked a road for fire safety? Where we infiltrated a casino to catch a murderer? Where we asked the civilians if any suspicious activity was in the area?
Actually a shame to how blind some players are if they think this patrol was such a big deal.
