And if RS5 would reset the stats... I don't want to think of what would happen.

Well actually Gandalf, Skyhawk and I saw your post and pitched the idea to Paul about having a support division that handles desk work, dispatch, prisoner affairs... But if your saying there will be a script in place we can just forget about it. We had ways of attracting players to the idea :P

Forget about the script. I have launched an idea in upper command to see if we can make it attractive in RS5 without having to resort to manual intervention as we would currently need.
While there is some major change in RS5 expected, that does not mean that desk staff would become unneeded or unwanted.

I'm not onduty so I can get $$$ Out of it, I'm on-duty Because I love it, not because of the Money...

Same here. Copduty holds me busy. and I'd like if there was a rank "Desk staff". Specialization is a good thing. =)

You know noone would do it because it's not paid 
It's all about the money, all about the money!

Patrol officers could bring in an arrested suspect, then turn them over to the desk staff for processing, freeing up the patrol officer to go back out and continue his patrol. Suspects who want to give themselves up, instead of PMing a cop or asking in /p for a cop to come get them, they can just walk in and surrender to the desk staff.

I would happily be desk staff full time. It'd be quite an enjoyable job, with pay or without pay, I'd do it for the Roleplay and Interactions.

Official guidelines and training requirements are being set up right now in preparation of RS5 with the use of scripted commands.
That is all i can say right now.. but the main point is that it'll work out properly with the other suggestions proposals towards the introductions to the inexperienced officers.

You'll find out about everything each time we officially release the final structures.
So remain patient for now until myself and Jaaskaa prepare everything in a well shaped manner with the structures provided by Ronnel.
