I can't stop feeling that this somehow offers protection to any argonath member that is into pedophilia.
Alright, this provoked my reply and perhaps I shouldn't express my opinion but I will, as a way to express my anger towards people being overcareful about pedophilia.
I am a teacher, very young one, after first year of teaching in a primary school. Dunno how about your countries but in Poland, male teachers are often seen as pedophiles, especially if they show ANY emotion or extra attention to children.
When I first joined the Staff, I had multiple conversations with our school pedagogue because I let very young kids (5-7 years old) to hug me and I was hugging them back. I just don't imagine my work as a teacher, person who is supposed to show kids the good way and support them, to push a child away when he/she is trying to hug me. That's kinda opposite isn't it? Parents nowadays are busy with work and other stuff. They don't have much time to listen to kids, their problems or confessions. If a kid wants to hug me and wants to be hugged, then he/she needs it. And I will not push it away... Trust me, I had very hard first days when I had to convince other teachers that this was my way of working, my vision of teacher's job and I would not change it.. Until some parent would cause troubles about it. Because I cannot predict how will I react then.
However, by this example, I want to show how some people are hypersensitive about pedophilia when such cases are in minority. And trust me, if I had any knowledge about any of my teacher friends acting weird towards children - I will be the first one to notify the police.
And the same is here. I am fully convinced that Gandalf will have no doubt in notifying the law enforcement right after he notices any suspicious activity.
And I don't see how protection of identity can protect pedophiles... I see it exactly as a contrary.... as a protection FROM unauthorised people...
