Blank spam from forums?

I've noticed in my email, I get about 5 or 6 emails a day from [email protected] (same as forums) only it has no subject and has no content. I do also get notifications properly and such for selected topics & boards.




Any idea?

Those aren't all Argonath forums :P I don't use the web app normally for my emails so they rarely update when I actually read them.

It's coming from one of the forums registered under that email address. ARFD, EMS, and Argonath RPG Forums both use it, amongst others, but I'm not sure off-hand what those others are.

I might add, this started only recently after the forum changes on this site. So I assumed it was this forum :P

Well, it is a reasonable assumption, but so far I've gotten tons of emails from this forum and I haven't seen it, so it could be coincidental. Try and gather a list of all Argo forums that you are registered on, and contact the admins to see if they also use that email address. From there you can probably narrow it down by sending test emails through things like changing your password, etc.

As far as I can tell, it would only be an email notification for a topic or board, though. The only other time the forum sends out automated emails, besides account changes, is newsletters...but then multiple users would be complaining about it here for the groups selected.

The reason why I suggest it might be another forum is because many of the Argo-based forums use your email address as the main forum one. ARPD used to use your's too until it was switched to Sauron's. :lol:

Unless its a bug :P

My only groups are TS administration and SAMP Judge :/ No other members of this group are reporting this issue.... so maybe Gandalf just gets bored at times and just decides to spam me :(

For now, I've added a filter to move these messages with no content to the trash as soon as they arrive.
