How do I correctly do it?
I enabled monitor speakers through the sound panel in control panel.
Didn't work.

Is there an audio cable(3.5mm cable) between the monitor and the PC to begin with?

I have 2 cables linked to the pc.

There must be 3 cables from the monitor, one for the power, the second one for the image (vga/hdmi or w/e), and some third for the sound, see if there is one and connect it to your tower first ;)
