KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS IN NO WAY IS MEANT TO MAKE FUN OF OR DISRESPECT THE AMERICANS
Canadaian history lesson coming up! In the war of 1812, the U.S declared war on Britain, and, in the 1800s up to around the early 1900s, Canada was part of Britain, General Ross, who led the Britains, decided to push into Washington, We succeeded, upon the invasion, we were out numbered, greatly. But before falling back, we managed to set fire to the "White House". Keep in mind, the "White House" Was not called that at the time, nor was it even white. Dolly Madison, wife of the President, was able to save the portrait of George Washington when she ran from the building. It was rebuilt and white paint was used to cover the damage from the fire. Since then it has been called the "White House".
ALSO, KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS MAY NOT BE THE TRUTH, NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE REALLY KNOW EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED, BUT THIS IS WHAT BASICALLY HAPPENED.
