A school for the community, ideas welcome

Fellow Argonathians,

This idea has been in the making for a while now and we realise that something like this has been attempted in the past. But the idea is simple. A RP school in which new players or old can come together to learn about different aspects of Argonath. We have discussed possible sessions which we could teach to the students and these are:

Getting started - introducing players to Argonath for the first time. This would include coverage of general things players would need to know in order to get started. So how to get a passport and license and answering the questions they have. This would be aimed at new players and we would like the session to end with a 'tour' of Argonath and important landmarks.

Explaining /rules - teaching players what exactly these mean and the common terms for them (e.g deathmatching = dm)

Cops and Criminals - as these are two of the most popular roles on Argonath, we would give do and don't and how to act in that character.

Housing and Business - not just aimed at the new but also the old. This session would cover everything on housing and how to use a business as a roleplay tool.

Government and Law - a session which would be aimed at giving people a general understanding of how the law works on Argonath and help explain the specialist terms. Also a brief guide on the structure on the government of the United States of Argoanth.

RP Roles - more of a personal session between players and a tutor who would give the person advice on how to act as a character or general RP advice on how to make roleplay more believable.

This would be a school for the community. A new school, with old values. We need the players to help shape this school, so if you have any suggestions, comments or anything that you would like to see added - please respond below.

Yes we have seen this topic and have taken in the advice given. However our school is not only going off the principles of purely a "cops and criminals" school, whereas we would teach all aspects of RP and give advice to players on all matters.

In the other topic, I suggested as well the creation of a multi-sectoral team that would cover the entire spectrum of RP roles, rather than focusing on cop and criminal.

Perhaps you could coordinate with Nicki to make that possible.
