I had the same issue but then i used CCleaner... ticked all the box's and cleaned it then went on run (Windows Key + R) and typed 'Prefetch' and deleted everything there and then emptied the recycle bin... Then it stopped :P

To allow for a more accurate diagnosis you should follow the following steps:
1. Download CPU-Z
2. Provide your PC specs (CPU, Mainboard, Memory, SPD (RAM) and Graphics).

Additionally, you should check your graphics card's hardware integrity. I once had a card that melted the attached fan. You should also put your case back together. An open case allows dust to enter freely and can interfere with airflow.

I'll try that, thank you.

I don't have a Graphics Card.

I don't think overheat can occur in 5-15 seconds. it not like he is making tea. Overload of ram or related perhaps?

A CPU can easily overheat within 5 seconds with improper cooling (No heatsink).
After prolonged improper cooling it can cause the PC to overheat faster, try keep track of the temperatures of the CPU and GPU while opening GTA.

I think it is solved now.

No RAM in the pictures?

Took them off at the time to clean the slots.

So far so good, I have used e14ismail's advice and its working. It has been atleast an hour or so where the computer is on and not shutting down.

Need to keep the insides clean at all times. I use compressed air to clean all dust and whatnot out of the fan and surrounding areas. I had such problem with certain games. Cleaning with compressed air solved the problem I had.

You should also do something with all those cables/wires. Cable management is very important in keeping good airflow throughout your case.

First post updated, please read through the first post to avoid suggesting the same idea again.

I have reinstalled the OS and the problem is still there. This time it occurred without entering San Andreas. Just simple browsing on Facebook.

As said before, get a program like Everest and keep track of the internal hardware temperatures to get an idea of what is going on.
It's more than likely overheating as mentioned multiple times.

100C? Well there's your problem right there, it should be sitting at 30-40C on idle.
Either get another way to fasten the CPU heatsink down firmly or take it to a PC store to get sorted out, but before that get new thermal paste between the CPU and Heatsink.

Heatsinks loose? Fix it and your problem will probably be gone.
