Ok to reset your BOIS do this, (I recommend this way..)

1) Turn off and Unplug the PC

2) Open the case and locate the small Lithium Battery in the mother board

3) Safley take that battery out

4) Plug the Pc Back in

5) Turn on the computer and let it run for about 5 min

6) Turn off the PC using the power button (If nessescary, hold it until power off)

7) Unplug the PC

8) Put the Battry back in and turn on the PC

If this does not help please let me know and ill provide more intructions

Ok thanks for the advice sickness. I dont think that will be necassary however. As since i stopped panicking and after further investigation (then further exploration of my PS3... which i have fitted most of my PC pheriphals to and installed an IM on it lol) I went back to my PC, and discovered about 1cm thick dust has accumulated into each of the gaps in the heatsink, so the fan can let no air in to cool the processor.

Im gonna hoover it tomorrow morning. With luck, the next post here will not be from my games console :D

Ps. There is a white liquid on (what i presume to be) the metal casing of the processor. Please tell me this was not a label.

DO NOT use a vacumme in a PC! It creates a lower pressure "system" which can be just as bad as water, And that white paste.. Is Thermal Paste.. it keeps the CPU Much cooler

Sickness don't worry as i am Jcstodds cousin, if his pc doesn't work by tonight i'll go round his house and fix it. I fix it is an overheating of your graphics card shannon becuase you said on the phone that you were playing SA:MP then it restarted. This is a safety measure provided by your mobo.

Dont worry- its nothing i cant fix. As for the vacuum- I will be only using it on the heatsink (which will not be attached to the motherboard) so it wont create a area of low pressure, and I wont have a depression over my computer... (Joke to anyone who has studied geography).

Like I said, the dust in the heatsink prevented any air getting to the processor (air was being forced out the vent, instead of being pulled in).

My graphics card overheating would not be the case, as this would not prevent the computer starting properly (not an overly demandig job for a 500mb graphics card? :D ) and that is well ventilated.

I will get back tonight around 5pm gmt and if im still posting from my PS3 by 6pm then i might have a more serious problem :D

Thanks for the help.

If the problem is overheating it will be simple to understand by keeping it turned off for an hour.
Also in the BIOS there might be a function to check the processor temperature.

About using a vacuum cleaner.... It is ok as long as the PC is turned off and not connected to the electric cable.
For any kind of maintenance or opening up your PC, always switch it off and unplug the electric cable.

haha, ironic really...

The day my computer sort of breaks, the only day i require the use of a vacuum machine, is the day my dearest mother decides to clean out the air filter ,which is still wet! God Dam here and stupid cleaning machined!
Im tempted to use a pump for inflating swimming pools... its a small red box, is louder than a jet turbine (not exaggeration), and frankly it scares the shit outa me. The blades inside scrape the case, and the motor emits a yellow light... so not blowing my computer....

I should have it done tonight- if not tomorrow night :) thanks for input gandalf. Dont worry, I wont electocute myself. More chance of my router getting struck by lightning.... again.

I hate that red fan we used it on saturday when i slept to pump up my airbed it sounds fucking mad and sounds like the fan touches the floor. Why not get a new one.
Well all i can say is after learning this in business studies.
If you have no receipt it doesn't amtter if they cliam you never brought it speak to the manager ak for a refund or new PC(better one) and he must give you a new one under the sales of good act 1979.
