Because this is not 911 call. This is anonymous, so how could the cops know who to reward, if they never knew the caller? In the original idea, no payment was supposed to happen to either side, except for cop getting the criminal one way or another.

I thought all this time it was just anonymous for other civilians and/or criminals ...
But if it's REALLY anonymous, meaning including cops, then the reward thing doesn't work, indeed.

Maybe it could be inplanted in the /c 911 command way, then.

Anyhow, back to this idea.

Now cops randomly pull over civilians for a routine check, which causes annoyance on itself, a lot.
Maybe cops should interrogate civilians passing by, if they saw anything suspicious on their way, along with asking for driving licenses etc.

I'm only wondering if people would use the anonymous call a lot, because /c 911 is also barely used.

People just shout in main chat that they're attacked and cops are on their way.
Of course, this must be changed, but is it possible to change that?

I hope this anonymous call changes it, but it's very doubtful.

Ohhh so you're saying you're hurt, pansy? It's just a few holes, tough it out.

It can be used against yourself too

Thanks for clearing out WHY you wouldn't like it.
A civilian should be rewarded for reporting a criminal to the cops, to make it get easier for those cops.

It's like real life, giving out a specific amount of money for giving the tip that leads the cops straight to a criminal, so why not in Argonath RPG?

Argo =/=

Besides, if you submit an information anonymously, you arent going to receive an award, otherwise the anonymous thingey looses the whole point

Over 10 years in Argonath

The whole point of this script is so you can rat on people without anyone knowing it was you. It's not about getting money from the police for being some sort of neighbourhood watch.

We do get a decent number of 911s, people make use of it.

One thing that I often get are "anonymous" calls, or mysterious calls tipping us off about something about to happen... already happened... and every now and then we get the average psycho calling in too. : D

Of course, it would be down to the way it is roleplayed. Some police pick up their phones (/c call) when on duty while others choose not to. Hopefully the officer has enough experience to treat a call as anonymous if that's how the caller wanted it to be - though then again, you could come up with another roleplay about "the FBI traced the call" etc. and it would never be fully anonymous.

Depends if it would be all round better to have a new script for it.
In real life there are several ways of leaving an anonymous message to law enforcement - be it through some phone line or by dropping a note at the station, it's possible. But I am not sure, if the police really wanted to, whether it's possible to trace the origin of the phone calls that come in "anonymously". I wouldn't be surprised if it is, but they wouldn't find the need to in good faith and plus, usually there are no big issues with people giving anonymous messages though sometimes it can be suspicious.

Reminds me of the idea of being able to use Payphones, since they're pretty much anonymous and can't be tracked.

Yeah, the payphones idea (think there was one, maybe even suggested by you lol) did sound fairy cool.

If any shop needed extra goods, was a little cast aside at the moment telephone cards could be added to facilitate this idea.

Calling 911 from payphone could be made anonymous, therefore kind-of combining the ideas  :trust:

It's like real life,
Argonath is more based on GTA than real life. So, according to GTA, no.
