No since I doubt theres any Americans who lock their guns up, I've seen pictures of you with guns on your belt so uh.. :poke:

My guns are locked in a electronic safe, with ammo in containers, locked as well in a separate smaller safe from the rifle.

Your statement is entirely false. Just your clueless view on something you know nothing about, sorry to sound like an ass. But you don't live here, you see stories like this and assume everyone with a gun walks around with it like its a casual thing to do. I can name dozens who have weapons locked. I know my grandfather doesn't even store his ammo in the same house, he keeps it at his hunting cabin.

It still doesn't mean everyone respect such safety procedures..

News threads are for discussions, not threats..  :poke:

Exactly. Most of news have a political part to discuss and if you can't handle it, just don't reply. No need to threaten people because you feel your wonderful laws about liberism and your stunning 2nd amendment attacked.

Although I'm not sure who threatened who in that situation, that wasn't the reason why I told others to stop discussing it previous to that. Political discussions aren't allowed in here regardless, as per the rules. Players need to understand that. That was the only reason why Gandalf allowed this board to continue existing after the old one was removed. :P

(P.S. This is not aimed at you Batta. I'm just expanding upon what you said.)

This news post is tied to political discussion and is inevitably inseparable from it. Truth is that the system in place allowed this to happen, through being exploited by those who wish to cause harm.

Trying to purge this topic of any political discussion would be like talking about a first grader slashing other students in his class with a knife while avoiding the discussion of how he got the knife in the first place.

The most important part is interacting with others and meeting people from around the world.

The system that allowed this to happen was also written over a hundred years ago and other systems written to prevent this system from being entirely removed by any one at any time. 60% of Americans want stricter gun laws, yet every time its mentioned the politicians who are elected to represent our vote crawl up into a corner and do nothing. Why? Because its sensitive to their career, one side they loose people and in another they loose people. The straight fact is we can make the laws sticiter, but removing firearms all together would require nearly the impossible, an overthrowing of the United States current democracy and disbandment of the United States Constitution. While, the Constitution does actually support both overthrowing of the democracy, and removal of its own law.... is it really better? Can you even begin to imagine how much worse off we would be as a nation? No, we'd get bent over on a silver platter by those elected to rewrite and reform the democracy, and they would strip many of our birth freedoms from us without question or debate. That I am sure of, and that is just something nobody, nor any American citizen or anyone in the world is ready to see.

Its easy to say the problem is gun control, so solution is to ban fire arms. You also need to keep in mind, we have over 100 years of no ban on weapons. The amount of illegal firearms in circulation is estimated to be higher than the amount of weapons legally owned in some areas. Sure, containment of the legally owned weapons that violate the new laws instated would be a easy task for some agencies to track and secure. But that thousands and thousands of black market weapons, which are the leading issues in most cases... the ones who couldn't get the weapons legally. How does one assemble a team to track down weapons that have fallen off the radar, you can't simply do. It would take decades to secure this amount of weapons and by then what has changed? Nothing. Sure you can say have police crack down, again we live in a country where we can store a gun in a locked drawer and police can not make you open that drawer unless they have a warrant or are without a doubt sure you have something hidden in that drawer (reasonable doubt). This again, a protection against search and seizure is part of the bill of rights.

The nations capital once tried to ban handguns in DC. This ended with dozens of angry residents and a strongly reactive Supreme Court, claiming a violation of the citizens second amendment right, the right to keep and bear arms. Trust me, many people do want this change. But those selected to make these changes for us aren't doing them. Removing weapons entirely isn't the solution. We need laws in place that can ensure only responsible, right minded, and reasoning adults can purchase firearms. We need laws in place that control, where weapons should be stored (in locked safes etc) and how (ammo separate/ no in chamber) and prevent issues from happening like this. We need laws that can address the concerns of the scary numbers of weapons circulating the black markets around the United States and even imported from around the world. It can be done, and can reduce these incidents dramatically but sadly, and truthfully will never entirely prevent anything like this. If people have the desire to do harm and create mass panic, there is nothing a troubled man or women won't try to accomplish this. Bombs can be made in matter of a day using common household items are we going to ban duct tape? These "simple" bombs can be deadly in crowds, while it isn't as easy as taking a semi-automatic weapon with a 30 round clip and just firing into a group of people. Its effective in its own way, and far more dangerous. What about more than simple bombs, a quick Google search a trip to radio shack (US Electronic store), $50 dollar budget, some access to again household materials and you've got a bomb you don't even need to be around for when it goes off. Does this really leave us in a better place?

The other issue is our mental health care, something I'm not really as sure regarding laws so I can't really get into this without some research to validate some of the things I've heard on the television recently. But I've heard many times we do have a flawed system to (forcefully) get treatment to those who truly need it.

Perfect exampe of the US gun laws, I hope the groverment does something before the next massacre happends honestly.
In my opinion, weapon laws should be as they are in Norway.
Perfect example of weapon laws not working in Norway is Breivik

Another perfect example of uselessness of weapon laws in America: Yearrrrrrme! - Ross Kemp New Orleans Gangsters!

I won't deny to say, seeing the ages of these kids really brings tears to my eyes. 16 of them, only 6 years old. I can't even bring words to mind.

I don't even understand how a grown adult can aim a gun, a semi-automatic rifle, at children like this and have the mind set to pull the trigger multiple times. I can't even begin to think how this is possible, I can't understand why.

There's no excuse for what has been done, nor are there any possible valid reasons for this to have been done.

It's not a problem. Second amendment allows the everyone to have guns, as a result you have these shootings. This is logical, and this is normal.

Taking into account your laws, it's not a surprise that kids get shot. Everyone has a gun, so what did you expect, really?
