The humour is the fact the cleaning lady stole it. Wonder wtf she thought she would go with it.

I think the story is logical. You are all alone in a train. You haven't driven a train before in your life so why don't try it out?! I totally understand her points of view, even if it's odd, but I would also have driven it (more careful though) if I were all alone in middle of the night :razz:
