(CNN) -- Officials believe two students were wounded in crossfire as two people shot at each other at a Texas community college Tuesday, a school spokesman said.
One of the shooters was also injured and is in custody at the North Harris Campus of Lone Star College, spokesman Jed Young said. The other shooter fled the campus, he said.
"The police believe the danger has been mitigated," Young said. "The school is under control but still being evacuated."
There were more than 10,000 students at the campus at the time of the shooting, Young said.
"Please don't go to campus! If you are on campus. Use caution!" a post on the school's Facebook page said.
Police and emergency responders swarmed an entrance to the campus, aerial video from KPRC showed.
Medical personnel were seen treating at least two people and moving them to ambulances. Students were jogging away from some buildings, with their hands up in the air, presumably in response to police instruction.
One student, speaking to CNN affiliate KTRK, reported hearing five gunshots outside a breezeway between a cafe and a library.
Another witness told KTRK he saw blood on the ground and someone shot in the leg.
"Beside him, there was one guy in handcuffs," he said.
"I just heard somebody screaming and then after that I heard the shots," another student told KPRC.
The Lone Star College system is the largest institution of higher education in the Houston area, and the fastest-growing community college system in Texas, according to its website.

Before a ban on guns they need ot finish all of them?

Do not roleplay a veteran on discord, be a veteran in game.

This gun thing is getting out of hand.
All i hope that in respect of the family and friends of people who have been victim of gun violence, they will honored them with a 21 century gun law.

Yeah I disagree with a ban on guns, it's sad indeed, it happens yes, but banning all guns? Is that honestly the way to go surely there are less restrictive ways to go about preventing this. I live in a town with 100 people and about 200 guns...to imagine it any different is something that I just can not comprehend, and what about the people living in the wilderness in Alaska? We just force them to an urban center? It's like Russia banning all guns from Siberia.

Do you need a full automatic machine gun to protect yourself?
Do you need a machine pistol to go out hunting?
Ofcourse you don't, yet you can buy these guns for a couple of hundred bucks.

I think its wise to indeed start a ban on these kinda weapons, it would be a good start.

I know crime rate has dropped in the last 20 year, but you wanna know why?
Its because rules get more strict and criminals don't get that much open air anymore.
They are making progress, but the finish line is still far away.

The finish line will never be in sight. And that includes every country in the world.

Fully automatic firearms are banned federally, not by state.

As I've said before, a full gun ban will never happen. Not to mention it's unconstitutional. A partial ban could be implemented, as well as licensing precautions for the remaining weapons. The problem with that is the number of firearms already in circulation. Both registered and illegal.

I understand your point, i really do.
I'm not talking about every single place in the USA, i'm sure there are many places that the streets are safe.
But lets be honest for a second, the moment a mental unstable boy walks into a school with a loaded full automatic machine gun, something is wrong.
And it seems there is no way at the moment with these kinda laws to keep this from not happening anymore, so i think its the duty of people who are in charge of it to make a chance.
Chances are made slowly, one step at a time.

Banning guns entirely isn't a feasible solution for current day America sadly. Looking at statistics most crimes involving fire arms in the United States are done so with weapons illegal firearms and banning them won't stop it since well....... criminals don't really follow laws all to well. Banning weapons will lead to the same outburst and violence seen during the prohibition of Alcohol which was a terrible, terrible period of crime and violent strings and yet thousands upon thousands continued to produce, and purchase Alcohol during this period.

But lets be honest for a second, the moment a mental unstable boy walks into a school with a loaded full automatic machine gun, something is wrong.

Please provide a link to an incident since Columbine where a legally used fully automatic weapon was used in a mass shooting. You won't, it hasn't happened.

For the record, I agree with stricter control on a weapon purchases and weapon storage. Weapons shouldn't be as easy as 1,2,3 to purchase. Additionally they need be locked and stored where family (children, and other unstable persons) can't access them so easily. Banning weapons isn't the solution and would cause more outbursts anyways.

Looking at the facts.... United Kingdom citizens are the first to criticize us on our "gun violence". However, during the last few years the most violent country in Europe was the UK.

Additionally compared to other countries with gun ownership we have strikingly the largest amount of gun ownership than any other country, to support many facts we would assume that the United States has the highest gun violence due to this correct? Actually, again here the case if false. There are countries with close to equal gun ownership and far surpass our violence in guns, and even some that are above us that have far less guns per citizen. So the hypothesis more guns equals more gun violence is a mere false theory.

I was actually planning to have a casual debate with you but after reading that statement, nevermind it.
So sad to see people still pointing their little finger at someone else.
I have problems taking people serious from the USA that start conversations with "Us" and "Our" and then start pointing their finger at other countries acting like they where a part of important decisions of "Their" country.

But i'm going to throw in the towel because i see where this is going.
Have a nice evening.

You seem to be confusing pointing the finger and merely stating the facts. While your view and much of others seem to be stated herein my reply, the post makes much more sense. If you continue to actually read what I stated, I'm not pointing fingers or rejecting any other idea as far as sides I'm merely on the same side just I have a different opinion on how to reduce the issue of gun violence in the states, and not ignore it any further.
