How can you ever underestimate a company like Rockstar games and a franchisee as huge as GTA?

http://news.cnet.com/8301-1023_3-57570312-93/five-unanswered-questions-about-playstation-4/

Even watchdogs, the true contender for GTA series so far, will be coming on PS4.

Who knows GTA V was actually developed for new gen consoles? i.e. Maybe they built the games on some kind of prototype of PS4?

Diablo 3 on PS 4 - http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-9020_7-57570424-222/sony-blizzard-ink-partnership-diablo-3-headed-to-ps3-ps4/

Other games, including kill zone etc - http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-9020_7-57570419-222/sony-demos-new-killzone-driveclub-infamous-for-ps4/
First of all, the PlayStation 4 is still being developed. Second of all, it would take a year or more, even with Rockstar Games' power, to port a game to a brand new system. I guarantee that is not what caused the delay. If it was, it'd be pushed back more than a year, not a few months.

Well, if Ubisoft can develop watchdogs for PS4, Why can't RS make it for PS4?

http://www.argonathrpg.eu/index.php?topic=94391.0

I highly doubt Rockstar games would like to feel a defeat ever before release.

Because Ubisoft made that on a development system from scratch. It's not a game that is already near completion that would need an incredible amount of work to port.

Not that expensive, same price as PS3, PS3 probably will be sold at around $80 in a month or two after PS4 release, just like what happened with PS2.

New? Maybe in a year or three...

If that would be true, even I might buy one just so I can play GTA:V a bit sooner.

I remember how PS2 used to be sold at around $500, and just after 2 months of the release of PS3, It went crashing down straight to $80-$100.

Yeah, but this isn't the PS2 we're talking about. Sometimes devices can even turn out to be worth more than the retail price after they're 'outdated' and old. You can't just assume it's gonna be like the PS2, which, as far as I know, didn't cost $500 2 months before the release of the PS3, but more like less than 50% of that. I think I bought my PS2 in 2006 or 2007. Before the release of the PS3, that's for sure, and I paid 200 euros for a deluxe package which had more shit than the regular one or something. Not sure anymore, but those were the prices at that time.

Anyways, it's pointless to say stuff like that, because it's simply a completely different product than the PS3/PS4. We'll see how it goes, but I promise you, if a PS3 will cost $80 USD, BEFORE GTA:V will be released, I'll buy one just because I promised it. ;)

Recent photographs leaked online appear to show a prototype controller with a touchpad alongside the classic DualShock-style controls.

The images weren't leaked, they were released officially via their blog and their Facebook pages as well as through other official social media websites and programs.

I wish we could have heard about some prices and actually got a look at the thing! Also a raw specification sheet would be nice to look at and compare it to the PS3.

PS4 will drive on 64-bits and will have 8-core x86 processor.
Advanced graphics card with 8gb GDDR5 RAM.

Thats what known for now.

what the fuck did you just say

You know you're wrong if you hide behind your invisible powers you never had in real life. Those who watch me will entirely understand.

Why do I do what I do? Because I know you won't stand someone opposing you. And because you know you can't prove me I'm wrong.

That is not how 64-bit processing works.

64-bits[...]x86

x86 = 32-bits.

I wonder if the PS4 will become a console that can actually compete with the PC graphics and processing at the time of release.

Maybe.

I'll just do the same as I did with Ps3, wait a few years for the price to drop and get it for a cheaper price.

It's estimated to be as good as a 600-700 dollar PC of today, so it's not really bad at all - but high-end PCs are better. It's understandable, though, because packing the Playstation with such good hardware would make it just too expensive.
