North Korea says it is in 'state of war' with South

BREAKING:

North Korea said on Saturday that it was entering a "state of war" with South Korea in a continuing escalation of tough rhetoric against Seoul and Washington after coming under international sanctions for its nuclear test.

"From this time on, the North-South relations will be entering the state of war and all issues raised between the North and the South will be handled accordingly," a statement carried by the North's official KCNA news agency said.

KCNA said the statement was issued jointly by the North's government, ruling party and other organisations.

North Korea has been threatening to attack the South and US military bases almost on a daily basis since the beginning of March, when US and South Korean militaries started routine drills, and has ordered its armed forces on the highest alert.

But the impoverished state has kept a joint industrial zone that is the source of hard currency where hundreds of South Korean workers and vehicles enter daily after crossing the rival Koreas' heavily armed border.

Few believe that North Korea will risk starting an all-out war.

The two Koreas have been in a technical state of war because their 1950-53 conflict ended under an armistice and not a peace treaty, although Pyongyang earlier in March declared the truce no longer valid.

Like the article mentions, they have politically been "at war" for the last 50-60 years, give or take.
Hopefully these developments will just remain political and won't become reality.

I never supported any of the previous US invasions, based on oil research, but this time i honestly would like to see US take military action against North Korea, they're just becoming fucking annoying , trying to be more than they really are. Also the statement made by few here, that they're doing this treats cause their citizens are bored of communism and everything that goes with the NK, is ridicules and funny.

NK Government doesn't need to keep their citizens busy with any other political subjects via mass media, they dont need to drag their nation attention from their real problems , like most of us are used to by our Governments, cause every single citizen of NK is more then aware of everything about NK political system, situation in the country etc.

NK is doing this only to drag the attention of the entire UN, in order to achieve better negotiating position, in order to try solving their big internal national problems, such as enormous hunger in the country, poverty etc without letting global capitalism and everything that comes with it (lead by US as a symbol of it), enter their country.
