Servers are still down, right?
Because, I am unable to connect. Not to the primary one, not to the development ones.

Currently, development servers are restricted because they are running on nightly clients.
As soon as the IV:MP developers make some progress and release a stable client, we will announce all the informations needed to connect on Argonath server.

They are the only ones creating a GTA multiplayer mod for GTA IV. They are the only ones who have successfully done such already. They can't predict what bugs or issues will arise, nor do they have any already-known fixes for them. It's constant trial, error, and testing.

Honestly, i get irritated by such excuses that "Oh, IV:MP is having problems with their team and there are not much of them working on it atm, have patience" and stuff. Have you checked out MAFIA II:MP? It was developed by ONE PERSON for a game that never had a multiplayer before. And guess what? MAFIA II:MP even in its earliest releases beats IV:MP in stability, sync and overall. They're just trying to hide their laziness and incapability.

Well, as far as I know, IV:MP developer "@Fri" was one of the lead developers for Mafia II:MP...  I dont know much about programing, but I guess, making a multiplayer mod for GTA IV, is much more complex than it was for Mafia II. Currently lots of developers are working on IV:MP, but unfortunately, with every new comit, there are also new bugs.

@FRi didn't contribute anything at all for M2MP according to Aaronlad and James. Besides, GTA IV and Mafia 2 is built on completly different game engines.

Just wanted to point it out since i've been following the M2MP development for almost a year.

Mafia II: Multiplayer also has been in development for a very long time, and uses some code that IV:MP created, so you can't compare the two. ****ting on them, and using it to put blame on Argo's IV:MP Developers is not going to help either. If you don't like the wait, go learn C++ and memory scanning, and go help out the IV:MP mod Developers. Otherwise, don't complain and try to put blame on people. Remember, the Developers also have lives on top of developing something for free out of their own spare time. I'm sure they don't appreciate it when people call them lazy.

Actually you don't need to compare it. But you can decide yourself...

Do you prefer having a server online that crashes constantly because of IV:MP bugs or do you better wait. Because one I know for sure, if we would have a server open many of players would blame us for the crashes which is basically even caused by player. Since as long they don't join server it will run smoothly :)

Point out where i have blamed Argonaths IV:MP developers. I blamed IVMP developers, not Argonath scripters. I'm pointing out that so far one man from M2MP has done a better job than a whole team of IV:MP, which keeps making up excuses.

I'm sorry, but i did not quite get what youre trying to prove. And once again you guys are missing the point, i'm blaming the client developers, not Argos IVMP developers. You guys have done what is possible with the current IVMP build, blaming you would be same as blaming Alaska for global warming.

I honestly doubt so. Nobody has made a multiplayer for neither of the two mafia games before. And also keep in mind it was developed by one guy.

We waited a long time for M2:MP, but its first releases are already more stable than the whole bunch of IVMP client releases. Not to mention that it is superrior in sync. It just prooves that IVMP Team lacks the dedication, i do understand they have lives as everyone does, but instead of releasing a client with even more problems than bug fixes, how about they consider taking a deep look into what they have already done, review all the possible script faults and release a proper and stable client?

at least we got a taste of multiplayer IV without waiting a billion years...

If you don't like it, go learn C++ and show them how it's done. Until then, don't **** on them. They are doing this for free.

When you call them lazy and say they are doing a crappy job, yes, you are ****ting on them.

As I said before, if you don't like their work, learn the programming language and show them how it's done. Until then, you really have no room to say anything negative about their work when it is provided to you for free without any expectations.
