I have recently started a family called "Braddock"

Where can I set a patent for this name? I see multiple people using it now...

Family names cannot be copyrighted, you can register your groups name in the Groups and Families board.

Army and such things: Until official army gets released/announced, such are to be considered as RP group/gang with active recruitment.
Group/Gang: Register in proper forum, not over court.
Personal Names: Names can't be copyrighted, No one can own a name. (E.X: John, John_Sheppard,Miley Cirus,Justin Beiber)

You could register the name as a Corporation or such. Such as Braddock Corporation. Explain your work type - keep out the obvious mafia stuff if it applies.

So if someone does use the name, you'll still be able to sue them, for something, and people still cannot impersonate your group.

Properties will not be changed for the individual. You'll have to buy a business which is suitable to have a 'hotel interior' in to become a hotel.
