The CPU which he has, the i7 970 has 6 cores, now those 6 cores all share the tiny amount of 4gb of ram, by increasing the ram amount, each core will be able to process more at a higher rate of speed, you may say it won't increase performance but I say otherwise.

Try this, say each core has an equal slice of the RAM to occupy in this scenario, each of the 6 cores will only have 682 MB of RAM to use, by increasing the amount of Ram to 8 GB, each core will then be able to use 1.36 GB of ram, if it happened to spread the Ram equally between all of the cores.
Not to mention the CPU also runs 12 separate threads, the more Ram, the more processing ability there is, the more data is able to be transferred across to and from the processor at a single moment thus leading to increased response time and performance hand in hand.
I stand by my point. More ram will not increase his performance.
If you say it does, I'd like to see footage of that.

When buying new Ram, ensure the CL rating matches what you're already running, as well as the speed of the ram of course.

Performance, it can increase and it might not, but multitasking ability it will definitely help with, along with memory intensive games an applications as I doubt he would consider getting a Titan to play Minecraft and GTA SA only.

It's true that more than 4GB ram is likely to improve multitasking, but is better multitasking worth the 90eu? Comes down to personal preferences I guess.

If he's looking at purchasing a Titan, I shouldn't think 90eu will break his wallet...

Get AT LEAST 6gb of RAM

4 is just not enough, your shit will go up to 3.5 every time you open more than two or three programs on Windows 7, so get more

also the Titan is like a thousand dollars, obviously the best GPU right now

I'll buy 4gb of RAM. Found one store in Novi Sad where i can buy it for 90euros.

that's a lot of cash for only 4gb of ram

if im not mistaken 8gb (2 sticks of 4 each) brand new cost around 40-50 euros

You don't need to directly buy it at a store.
Buy it from Newegg.com (probably the most popular hardware site) or Ebay.
I'd give you a link but I don't know what type of ram you want / need.
