Policy on (casino) scamming

In one or two days we will move to the new server, which means all logs of the past time will be once again reachable for the management. The logs have been recorded, just access has been near impossible. This brings me to put out a clarification on our scamming policies and a (not so) friendly warning.

Scamming is allowed only between regular players and with respect to illegal deals.
This means that a scam in case of a drugs deal between veterans will not be handled by the management. However if a new player is scammed out of his/her  money in whatever kind of deal the scammer will be punished.

Scamming in regular deals is a bannable offense. Apart from the ban, further punishment may be given.

This leads to an issue that management has requested me to take some action in : a current wave of casino scamming. Those who expected to go free on this will find that they do not, as all transactions have been logged. There for it may be a good time for those who scammed others to undo their actions.

From the moment the logs will be available, these punishments may come in effect:
1. Scammed money is removed from the account double
2. Any business or house properties or cars will be sold without compensation should the account land in negative numbers.
3. Any account use for laundering of scammed money will get equal punishment. If that means the punishment will be 10 times the amount scammed, not our fault.
4. Any account found used for scamming and laundering that belings to a multi-accounter (player with more than one account) will see all the accounts of that player destroyed, regardless of their value or how long the player has been on server

Those of you who have been involved in scamming might think over what can happen to them in the nearest days. If you make amends by returning the scammed money before the logs are back, punishment may be limited to a ban or less, depending on your actions.

However if you wish to gamble on our inability to find exactly what happened, you will find yourself on the losing end.

As far as i've been told, exactly one month after register time, but I can be wrong.

It depends on players... If you take one guy that is registered since 2 months but he played only 1 hour and doesn't have a passport then he is still considered "new". It depends on player experiences and their knowledge of what happen around them.

Then how are players meant to recognise this, as they will have no clue as to how long the player has played.

I would take Gandalfs warning seriously. Just because the server have had troubles last month, it doesn't mean you can behave as you want. Remember, you will be caught.

From a side of a law-abiding casino, the best thing to do may be to introduce chips. 1 chip = 1 dollar, or whatever the rate. Let people buy chips from staff, gamble, and then sell back to casino, if they have any. It will require more effort to keep track of these role-played chips rolling around, but reduces the likelihood of a player trying to scam the casino.

Of course, some casinos may be against it; however, I hope they will recognize that this improvement will make the "system" more secure.
