Restocking businesses?

Hey,

I thought I would ask these questions here as quite a few people didn't seem to know the exact process of how business are restocked and often with those that did know, the answers differed from one person to the next.

Hopefully we can clear up some of it here. : )


For owners, /bizzinfo gives you the profit value of their business. /restock costs half of this /bizzinfo value, but how is the /bizzinfo profit value 'created':

1) Is it purely just the total of all entry fees - people coming into your business and the price they have to pay?
2) Is this a cumulative value, so it just get transferred from one owner to the next, and keeps getting higher and higher, rather than starting from 0 each time?

3) Or does the profit always stay at the same value despite of people entering or new owners?
4) What happens to the profit value if you change the interior skin of a business e.g. From Suburban to Victim.

5) What stock should you start with when you buy a business, and what if you change the interior skin?


I think many people know how the system should work, but in practice are not certain.
If you can answer all or even some parts of those questions I would really appreciate it.

• The profit is the amount of money attained from people entering the business and paying the entry fee since it was last restocked.
• It is accumulated until the point at which the owner restocks the business, if the first owner sells the business before restocking and a new person buys it, the profit will still be there although the money may not, all dependent on whether the first owner used /withdraw and took the money out of the business or not, but the profit will still be as it was before it was sold in the event it had not been restocked yet.
• The profit is only calculated from the last restock until the current point in time, if the current owner does /restock, the profit will be reset at that point in time and start recounting on entries from then onward.
• I believe the interior change won't "reset" the profit however I may be wrong but the business itself is still there so the stats of it should remain
• The stock left in a business will all depend on the previous owner, what ever stock it was sold on will be the stock that the business will have upon being purchased.

Now I may be mistaken at some points but that's as much as I can recall.

Although Devin has already replied, providing correct and reliable information, I would like to confirm that if you intend to change a business' interior, the profit value will not change. It will continue increasing depending on the amount of players that enter the business.

Ahh ok, thanks for the detailed responses Devin and Mark. That's really helpful.

I was kind of shocked when I saw that the profit value was considerably high but I had never seen any great sales. Was wondering why I would have to pay out a decent amount for what seems like a lower return. Will get ingame and check things out.
