I can install Windows Vista 100% without any problems....
But when I when install Windows XP, it says "Cant detect any Hard Drives, please check if all cables is correctly connected", and blablablabla....
Well as I can install the Windows Vista, is everything correctly connected?
And im 100% sure that theres absulutly NOTHING wrong with the CD.
Can anyone plz help me here?

I dont want Vista, but I somehow cant install the XP :(

make sure the power cable to the HDD is pluged in all the way, and the SATA or IDE cable is all the way into the MB and HDD (i had the same problem)
-
write down you motherboard model, Download the Sata RAID driver, put it on a floppy, hit F6 when windows ask for it at the beginning of the installation, and install it... You could also streamline it...
If motherboard vendor doesnt support SATA raid disks, just simply download SIW (system information for windows) and find your chipset, go to via or intel and download it that way..
Good luck :)

They are 100% plugged in correctly.

I give it a try... But I think that's too complicated for me

I found out the problem! I need a SATA Driver. But I need some help to find it... The HD im using is a Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 120 GB SATA, and the Model Number is: 6Y120M0
-
yu dont need sata driver for your HDD, but from your Motherboard's Chipset..
You can get that information by using Everest or SIW.
here a little screenshot to give you a peek where to look.. :

there no poitn in installing drivers when you reformat.. when you reinstall a OS, or install one for the first time everything goes into Plug and play mode, meaning they run without drivers (they do, its just that the drivers are hard coded)
the only problem you chould be having is the cable is loose, or somthing is physiclly damaged (probobly the Win XP disc)

I am 100% sure that the Win XP Disc doesnt fail anything. 100%.
And the cables doesnt fail ANYTHING, im sure!

This is Defenitly the Raid Driver, i experienced several of these problems, since i work as computer engineer in belgium.
Finding the disk driver, put it on a floppy, and push F6 at the beginning of the installation is the only thing i can advise.
I think i found the corresponding driver for your chipset.

Ok thanks very much!! :D :D
I downloaded the driver, but the problem now is that I dont have any floppy drive :(
Well I have never needed one before now :(
So is there a way to put the driver on a USB flash-drive, or an empty CD, and then make the F6 read from the USB, or the CD ?

uhm.. You can try, but i think it won't work.. Dont you have ANY floppy drive / Floppy disk there? :(

Yes! And beleive me, the thing Clyde is saying is correct, a RAID Driver is needed, and I have read about it, its just a damn Floppy Drive I need to get to work on the computer.

If you lived in belgium, you could borrow one of my floppy drive collection :D
Btw what you also can do is streamline it to your windows XP installation.
What you need to do is make a backup of you XP disk, with help IMGBurn or any relevant program.
Then you install nlite, and add a driver to it, insert an empty CD and :alert"ta-daa :alert", it has your driver on it..

So I can make a IMAGE, like .iso or something, and then use the nLite program, to add the driver on the CD?
-
just make an ISO of your Windows XP installation Cd, open it with Nlite, add one driver, (yours) and burn them together on the disk

yup, it gives you an option to add a driver. :)

I dont argue to do all this man. Im gonna buy another HDD, thats the easiest way to to this.
-
Don't forget you'll need to buy a HDD on IDE then, Beceause ALL Sata Hdd's will ask for that driver on, your motherboard.. :(
-
Ok :( Thanks for your help :D
-
NOTE That IDE Hdd"s are slower than their SATA Brothers :(
