Title: RS4.1 Tester Applications

I am working on new scripts for Argonath RPG which contain new features. I need testers to test these features and make sure that all bugs and other problems are reported to ensure that the scripts work properly on the main server when they are implemented

One of the big script updates in the future will be known as "RS4.1" as it is an update of RS4. In between RS4 and RS4.1 are other script updates, but RS4.1 will be a considerable update itself

The test server hosts tests for the script updates before they are implemented in the main server. The scripts on the test server will be known as RS4.1 scripts, even if there is no RS4.1 material in them yet because they are generally different from the main server scripts and should not be confused with them.

The IP address and password of the test server are classified, only testers will be told them and testers will not be allowed to pass them on to other people

I will be recruiting testers to test the new scripts in a working environment. If you are interested, please view the tester requirements, rules and then post an application form

Tester Requirements

It is likely that the chosen testers will have history on Argonath RPG as "script and bug abusers". What this means is that these people have been banned in the past for abusing scripts or exploiting bugs and I want them to test the new scripts as they are perfect at finding and reporting bugs! Do not worry, the good people may also be given a chance to be testers - it is not a strict requirement that you have been banned before


Tester Rules

All Argonath RPG rules exist on the test server

You are not allowed to give the server IP or password to someone who is NOT a tester, doing so will get you removed from the testing team and the server password changed

You MUST report ALL bugs which are found - you are not allowed to keep bugs a secret as one day they may be abused...

You must NOT leak any information about the new scripts to anyone who is not a tester

I work with a "work hard, play hard" policy. This basically means that if I join the server and find a load of people messing around, I will ask each of you what tests you have done. If you fail to show me evidence of any testing, there will be consequences. You are there to test and test you shall do...if I enter the server, ask you what you've been doing and you tell me what you have tested, what bugs you found and that you reported them, THEN you may mess around for a while

You must not spend too long on the test server, especially if you're an administrator on the main server

Although you are allowed to abuse scripts and bugs, you are not allowed to repeatedly abuse bugs which crash the server or abuse scripts which have been PROVIDED by me for testing!

Finally, you must not lie in your application form...I WILL be checking them thoroughly

Why do you want to be a tester?: i love beta testing i have helped many of my friends beta test alot

You would have two different installations of San Andreas and have each one modded with a different version, then change the version on your SA:MP client options whenever you need to go onto either one

How many times have you been banned?: Never for a valid reason (ive been banned 2times by accident when i was innocent)

What do you play as in the main server? (examples: cop, criminal, medic): used to be Cop, now citizen and a bit of a criminal side.
Why do you want to be a tester?: Well i know how to test well, ive got experience testing scripts on other servers and i want to try help out to make this new script as bug proof as humanly possible. Im also currently helping test another server on the new SAMP 0.3a Beta Client, so i am familiar with the setup of a few things on the new client.

Why do you want to be a tester?: I want to contribute to the community, and prove myself as a worthy veteran. I also want to make the new version as flawless as possible, I will work hard if I am chosen, I can promise you that.

would copying it to another file work cause i don't have the cd anymore it broke so i just using some cd thing allowing me to play without it

How many times have you been banned?: twice. But one was caused by a bug(See here (http://www.argonathrpg.eu/forum/index.php?topic=34229.0)) and the other was cuz of a hacker (Ask MIB). So actually i have not been banned for a legitimate reason.

Why do you want to be a tester?: I have spent awhile with argonath and i would like nothing better then to make Argo a better place! Argonath is the ONLY server i will and ever play on.

Just copy San Andreas to another location, install this client and it will work, just make sure you link the right client to the right copy of GTA, ive had that setup running for months now.. 1 with 0.2x and the other with the old client for a old server, now im running 0.3a on that copy and its perfect.

Why do you want to be a tester?: I'd like to be a tester to enjoy the experience, to help Cb and you set up the server, and beta/alpha test like I did with cb for 4.0. I can be on teamspeak whenever needed while online, and am on at the late times thanks to my timezone when cb is usually on testing the scripts.

Why do you want to be a tester?: Most of the current commands are quite abusable, which I admit I have abused about half of them.  I could easily help with identifyng the bugs, exploits, and helping scripters, by telling them what they are.

Why do you want to be a tester?: I want to help the developers to find bugs and whatever things that can be abused by other players to give them an advantage over others, so that can't happend on the main server!

Why do you want to be a tester?: I've had experience with beta testing for Argonath's VC:MP server more than a year ago, and beta tested a bit on RS4 for SA:MP. I'd figured I would be helpful to betatest RS4.1, given some of my experiences I've had gained during my 2 years in Argonath.

About 5? I mean I been here long time i started as ban evader i got about 3 bans from there on Gunmen Snowman and Daifery. Then i was banned for /q abuse once and I havent been banned in last 6 months, well i got banned by aragorn but that was missunderstanding and we sorted it out :)
 :ps: I were last time correctly banned on December 2008

1 or 2 not sure.. I think it was 1 cause I am strictly against script i abusing and the 1 ban i had for script abuse was for /helpmeup abuse...

Why do you want to be a tester?:
Cause I want to make sure there will not be any unfair advantage over others. In RS4 I have reported alot of bugs, I never took advantage of bugs i reported them straight when I found out about them. I once tested commands and I crashed server by finding bugs so I think betatest would be good for me and I woudlnt have to test all commands in game and annoy others who want to RP  ;)

 :ps: Yes I have abused /helpmeup and /revokebadge(once when it was broken and I tested I accidently removed someones badge) but thats all, it was very long time ago and I have changed. I hope I will get into betatesting team cause my rulebreaking days are over for long time and I want everyone to have fair play and I want to help scripters to give players the best scripts ever without any bugs.

I have also had experience of bug stuff :P , I used to be clan leader of NinjaPie until the summer when everyone started to go on holiday and came back and well innactiveness ... No one has time for the clan and well, it failed, i had a server and It was my own script, but i have not scripted in time and well, forgot, im just looking to come and /lay and get $100000000000 :P , ofcourse ill report it also, but it'd be nice to have the money :P

I am very sorry to announce that I will not be recruiting any more testers soon

The next wave will be selected a while from now and will only be selected if the current wave is not large enough to do the tests which are required


Even at the moment I don't need my testers for much and actually will need them when new systems have properly been implemented

Would you be a better tester? I doubt they would choose a developer of an other Community/assisting developer or how you want to call it.., in the testing group... And making some personal attacks wont make any difference or false statements as there is an dictator making the decisions of who to accept into the testing group or not..

I want to be a tester because only this way i can help making the server(script) better, and because i hate bug abusers like people who sell bugged weapons.
And in the end it would be better for everyone, less bug abusing = less bans/unbans = less work for the a-team, and also less moaners that moan about argonath being buggy.
Wich means the a-team can focus more on other things like hackers.

I want to make sure all of the bugs are out this time. I am currently a Level 1 SA:MP admin, and I would like to be able to bug test the admin features as well.

Why do you want to be a tester?:  I'd like to be a tester because I'm quite interested in seeing what the new scripts will be like.  I'd also like to give something back to the community of Argonath, by aiding in the development of the upcomming scripts.  I have had the SA-MP 0.3 RC client installed for a full week so far, and I've already taken note of the most significant changes.  Mind you, I've also been playing on Argonath for 2 years and thus, I would obviously know the ins and outs of the server.  I know the script quite well, like the back of my hand.  Hiring me as a scripter, would definately not result in me coming on the test server to have fun, but rather, to ensure that all is in order, and the scripts cannot be exploited when officially released.  Also, to ensure that the scripts are stable.  Technically however, I will actually be having fun, because let's face it, it is a game, whether I'm playing on a test server or not.  So, that is basically why I want to be a tester, and why I believe I qualify.

Why do you want to be a tester?: As written above, I were onced banned for script abuse.. I got realy sad, and I could see that it was incredible stupid of me. I refreshed my unban request all the time, in hope that I were unbanned.. A day.. It happend, I were unbanned. I got so glad..
I'd like to help Argonath, to reduce script abuse. I know how it feels to be banned for things like that, and im sorry that I did it.
Another reason why i'd like to be a beta tester, is that I have been betatester on other servers before, admin on other servers before.. Then i quited playing them, and I came to Argo. Since then, I never played any other server. I have posibility to be online alot, and to help alot on the server (and to Beta-test it) I'd like to help Argonath with new scripts, and to find their bugs in the script. Im aware, that this application might not be the best, but.. Consider me, just as I you are considering everyone else, please.

And i currently have 0.3 beta. I work with it daily. Im a dev for another 0.3 server. i update it as soon as an update is availible. I cannot play 0.2 at the moment so as a 4.1 beta tester i would have something to do also since i cannot play RS4 with Sa-mp 0.3

It sounds like a good opportunity to benefit the Argonath RPG server entirely. I was also the one to discover & report the bug that now doesn't allow you to give weapons in the car.

I got the most experience with webprogramming (php, javascript, ajax, etc), but I did also some work in Java, VBA, and programmed parts of mods for call of duty 2. I think I am experienced enough to see, find and report bugs.

Just to let everyone know, the RS4.1 server will be used to test some script updates for the main server when they have been developed, so RS4.1 testers may be asked to test things which will be soon released

I will select some more testers when I have made estimates as to how many more I need once the development is done

Just a note for all testers.
When you get access ti the test server, you are supposed to use it for testing only.
If in the log check of testing we find that instead of testing people are playing around, they will lose test team membership.

I am releasing a big script update in the very near future and require a lot of testers

To help me select the testers, Vince will be reviewing applicants too

As Vince is by far my best tester, I have made him the head of testing. His role will be to keep the test server and the testers under supervision and make sure there are no problems in the testing team. As said above, he will also be reviewing applicants too.

Why do you want to be a tester?: I really hope to find the new bugs and let them be fixed before the official script comes out. Also, I want to check the grammar and spelling on a lot of the things because there are some common spelling mistakes in the current script.

None, but i have been warned, kicked and tempbanned quite alot of times for abusine /load, weapon, /helpmeup scripts.

Why do you want to be a tester?:
because i will get to test new scripts. I will get the advantage of using the new scripts before anyone else. Also it will make the developers /owners/scripters jobs easier. I always like to be a helping hand for anyone. You guys make awsome scripts, im sure it takes alot of work. so i am applying to become a tester because it will give you guys some rest and some less work. And it sounds like a really fun and interesting thing to do. I have done alot of testing for other servers, and found 4-7 bugs from every test. I enjoy testing cause it feels good to be one of the frst ot use the script, and makes you feel like an important person. Just like when the test server was open because the main server was down, that was alot of fun.

I'd like to help Argonath, to reduce script abuse. I know how it feels to be banned for things like that, and im sorry that I did it.
Another reason why i'd like to be a beta tester, is that I have been betatester on other servers before, admin on other servers before.. Then i quited playing them, and I came to Argo. Since then, I never played any other server. I have posibility to be online alot, and to help alot on the server (and to Beta-test it) I'd like to help Argonath with new scripts, and to find their bugs in the script. Im aware, that this application might not be the best, but.. Consider me, just as I you are considering everyone else, please.

I accepted people who tested a lot with me as they proved that they are tester material

Thanks again, guys! I managed to make the script even better!


Testers, please go regularly into the test server and see if you can find anything else which needs fixing or changing. Maybe you have suggestions or generally new ideas? I would like to hear them!

How many times have you been banned?: Once, and it was a confirmed mistake (I was AFK and banned for spam)
How many of those times were for script/bug abuse?: None
What do you play as in the main server? (examples: cop, criminal, medic): Police and Fire
Why do you want to be a tester?: I wish to be a tester to test the fire scripts and give input and feedback regarding such, as fire is a large part of our role play aspect now a days on Argonath. As leader of ARFD with SugarD, I would like to test out the fire scripts and make sure everything is perfect for release.

Yes, keep it open for FUTURE script versions. That means they should apply when future versions request it.
