" I've spent far too much time on the server for everything to just be taken away". No one is taking away the RP that you practise. Maybe you can't have the biggest HQ in San Fierro, maybe someone else will take it first, but that doesn't make your RPing worse.

If, and most likely when, the reset happens, let's think for a minute here that what you will lose. You will lose your propreties, money and vehicles. Let's say that happened right now in RS 4.1, what would you do? You would complain how stupid it is, but in the end of the day, you still have your Gvardia family. No one is resetting your experience with the server.  The only thing you can really complain with a reset is that "I don't want to lose my money" or "I don't want to compete with others to regain our familys properties". You will still be known as Gvardia, you will still be respected, like in RS 4.1.

Even if you find an argument against every single sentence I just wrote, then I can give you this:

Times change, and they always will. If your family doesn't want to fight it's way back to the top, it's the familys fault. It's time for new challenges.

If there will be a reset, it will be to make these old players decide. Either they will become once again active to show their skills and play, or they may decide not to return as there is nothing to keep occupied from others. Sure the times they invested will be gone, but on the other hand the challenge and interest was already lacking meaning the gameplay suffered. If they decide to move out, it will give the new generation a chance to develop and reach the status they had. However with one difference. We are trying to keep the challenge in RS5 larger and more constant, meaning that boredom will not strike as easy. If you were addicted in RS4, expect to be more addicted by RS5. If you lost the addiction in RS4 due to boredom, think very good about if you can once again miss the time as RS5 will captivate you even longer.

This quote from Gandalf displays resetting in a very positive light. That is why I personally think that the reset will pass, when you keep Gandalf's position in mind.

If you wish to hear arguments fo a reset, here they are:
- We currently hold about 300.000 player account names, most of which are inactive. Without a reset all files will have to be read in to the database and checked for consistency. That will delay a release quite a bit.
- Among the current accounts there are many from people who ban evaded or used exploits to obtain what they have today. In a new environment they will not be profiting from this any longer.
- Players who are active today will get the chance to obtain properties held by players who do not actually play.
- not all the new features are compatible, which means the scripters would need to make adaptations to fit a square peg in a round hole.

To those who are already mourning their loss, and promise not to return, you should consider the following: Your current possession do not represent any monetary value. What they do represent are many hours of enjoyment and meeting people from all over the world on server. If you feel that meeting these people and spending time online in the game is no longer important, neither are your possessions. If you do feel that the experience in the game is important, your possessions are just a result of enjoying yourself. If the only thing you care about is money, get it in real life and do not waste your time here.

You can't even imagine how much effort the most group leaders put to buy the most important buildings in San Andreas and that's why I told you to stop posting things without any knowledge. It's not just about money, it's about losing a lot of things in a totally unfair way after many of the leaders worked hard to obtain them.

I am not doubting that it took a lot of time to get those buildings, but remember, they were acquired by money, which is a endless resource in Argonath.
The only valid reason to complain here would be if a family had roleplayed for months and months, to get the owner of the building to sell it to them, which I doubt is the case.

If it's not about the money, then what is so unfair about this? Everybody loses all of their stuff. How do you measure the "unfairness"? The amount of things you are going to lose? => it's about the money

The present situation is unfair. It's extremely hard to buy those big HQ's or Ammu-Nations because big families and groups control them, and aren't willing to sell them unless you offer millions of dollars. This means that it is hard to get a proper HQ for a reasonable price, if your group is new, and even if you have money.
