Alliances with other groups - should we 'remove' them

The reason you made this topic is because you have never successfully lead a group on your own. Alliances can benefit the respective groups and this is normal in the real world as well. It makes no sense to force every group in-game to not be able to create an alliance or pact.

I'll have to agree with Antonio.

What I mean by this is for example Stracci are friends with Lucianos. Stracci do not like the ballas but Luciano's are good with the ballas. This f**ks everything up.

Maybe if you didn't spend so much time being banned from the server you would know Luciano and BALLAS aren't allies.

I'd like to post my point of view as a cop.

Ofcourse, it'd be better for me as a cop if there were no alliances, many situations would be so easier to deal with. But I can see that a proposal like this would kill 90 percent of the roleplay for the criminal organisations, so I do not support it.

What I would like to be done simular to this, however, is that non-faction or non-allied-faction players wouldnt be able to participate in mafia organised activities. It's kind of irritating when some mafia organises a 207 and random people join just so they can participate in the dm fest.

 If you've been in a group's leadership or even be it's founder/leader you would've known why this idea is stupid and unneeded. Alliances tend to bring more roleplay, when an all out war just brings random deathmatch(in most cases, that is). From my personal experience I can tell you, that if the Angels of Death weren't on friendly terms with most groups we would not have achieved nor the respect people had for us, and nor the long life of the group.
 In order for a group to prosper it needs allies. Who are you going to sell your drugs to if you aren't allied with a bigger family? Who are you going to call when you're throwing a party?

RP can still happen even without alliances? An example of this may be the Luciano's may tax a Balla for being in Verona Beach. That involves roleplay no?

I have received a lot of negative feedback from this discussion, how about groups are 'limited' to one group to be allies with?

As a serial alliance/pact creator, this is silly yo.
Alliances are awesome - people like to be a part of something bigger than just their own group, and work with many people that they wouldn't otherwise consider working with. When you're part of these big alliances, you can achieve more since the alliance is worth more than the sum of its parts. The moment THOR members took up the Allies/Enemies/Respected/Disrespected topic relationships model, everyone else did too. That stuck around for awhile, you know?

As for the example given earlier in the thread -  if your primary allies are enemies of each other it might be time for a rethink of who you associate with.
