I'm not here to start a debate about Android vs iPhone as my mislead title says..

I am upgrading my phone in September but I won't have the time to actually go on and do my research (Really busy from 11th of April till 19th August)

I am currently on an iPhone 5 and I'm a very sociable person in real life. iPhone 5 certainly does 'the job' with selfies. The problem with Android phones I've encountered over the last couple of years is the poor quality in low light conditions. My iPhone 5 front camera performed better than my friend's S6. Same location, same angle.

Not to mention Snapchat are being assholes and not giving proper software support for Android devices. Honestly, I don't want to snap my friends some CCTV footage of me at the club for example. Putting it in a way you may understand, the FPS on the selfie camera on Android (or snapchat atleast) is horrendous.

Anyone here have a modern android smartphone that performs well in low light conditions (Front camera?)
If possible, post a picture of yourself in said condition so it can help me with my new phone.

Rest assured, I will not be going back to iPhone for a long time.

Well, Apple certainly has great cameras in their phones. Why won't you consider another iPhone?

Over priced and limited (even with Jailbreak which I'm currently running)

The only good thing about Apple is the aesthetics and the front camera and I'm not paying over £35 a month plan for an iPhone again. Not to mention Apple trying to force me to lock me out of my phone so I can go buy another one of their products.

I must not have a good experience with Apple cameras then. I've compared cameras on a Galaxy S6 Edge+ to an iPhone 6s Plus in person, and I was less than impressed by the iPhone camera, and preferred the Galaxy's camera.

Apple makes me yawn so hard, every phone they release feels exactly the same as the last, just it's got a bigger screen and is thinner or comes in some different colours, psh.

iPhone's are more user friendly. Great camera. Easy to learn for people new to smartphones. Beautiful looking. Expensive and also not supported or updated after a couple of years. iTunes is also a pain.

Androids dont restrict you to a certain brand so you have a plethora of choices. But of course in reality just 2-3 choices when it comes to flagship top of the line devices. Droids give you full control of what you can do with your device. Which is why techie people always prefer it.

I have a HTC, haven't had an issue with Snapchat or its updates. Dont know what you're talking about.

My sister and my parents use iphones. My sisters all about Snapchat and filters and my parents find iPhone's much more "simple". I on the other hand love to root my phone, get launchers, get the latest android version a soon as I can. Install various stupid shenanigans.

So honestly it all comes down to you. What you want and what you like. If the iPhone is too expensive for you, then there's no reason to even debate this. Get a cheaper droid. But if the droid will not satisfy your "want", then simply save up for the iphone..

My life has been:
iPhone 3GS
iPhone 4
iPhone 5c
iPhone 6

I don't see myself without an iPhone anymore, it's a celphone you simply get used to have.

So basically your life has been:
iPhone 1
iPhone 1
iPhone 1
iPhone 1, because they are all the same thing.

And where has this trend of buying not the best phone just because 'everyone else does it' gotten you? Minus $3,000 and annoyed by the fact that you can't put media on it without iTunes, but you will just ignore that because iPhone is a trend like some Nike trainers and they are fucking AWESOMMMEEEE no matter what anyone says.

I will say I am jealous of the iPhones camera through, but still, Android4Life.

Nailed it. Pretty much. I hate people who hate on either devices. They're both got their own pros and cons and personally, iPhone 5 is still one of the best looking phone out there.
So go for what you want and what you can afford. :))))

The S6 is much better and much more powerful but loses many of the features like SD card and waterproofing removable battery but makes up for itvin design and power and speed. S7 is these phones combined

iPhones are some great phones with exceptional processing power (but lacking in RAM, not lately though as they bumped it to 2 GB in the 6s and probably more in the iPhone 7).
They have great support and receive updates for a LONG time.
They are sturdy (except 6) and last very long.

My aunt's iPad 2 and iPhone 4s both received the new iOS 9 and work well (but she decided to upgrade anyway). Both the devices are still in good condition and she couldn't be more satisfied.

On the other hand only some flagship Androids get the same fate as the iPhones.

If you are looking for Android, look for the Galaxy S7 (Edge). It has exceptional performance and hasbeen rated the best of all Smartphone cameras.
