Just get the GTX 960 and your sorted

I would at least wait for some new AMD benchmarks/reviews before saying that. The 960 won't last for long and it'll probably suffer in DX12. He's going for casual gaming, he can still wait a bit and see what's the best option.

I know its GPU 100% cos I stopped the fan and the rest of the PC was quiet. Maybe worth mentioning I was cleaning it when I first got it and broke 2 flaps on the fan but I doubt that will be a big difference.
Well there's the problem, you broke the fan, if a blade is broken off then of course there's going to be a problem, the fan is likely to be spinning too fast due to decreased air resistance and it's going to be off balance.

Plus cleaning it without care can force dust into the fan bearings and destroy them.

He didn't "buy a broken GPU," he broke the fans whilst cleaning it, not even a new card would be covered under warranty in this case... stop speaking out your asses guys.

Go to scan.co.uk or someplace like that and see if you can pick up a GTX950, GTX750Ti or something like that for a decent cost. If you're playing anything up to GTA V on anything less than a 1080p screen casually then you'll be fine mate.

Holy shit, I can't keep up with the replies

I paid £200 from a friend who built this PC 2 years ago but never used it as he went to uni outside home. I kindly asked his parents if I can have it and wired the money to him.

CPU: Intel i5 2500
PSU: Corsair CX500
RAM: 8GB Vengeance
GPU: Nvidia GTS 450
HDD: Seagate 1TB

For £200 surely that's a bargain.

@Luke If I spent my money on PC parts, I wouldn't have 4 consecutive holiday coming up now would I? (1 more week till amsterdaaaaaaaaam :D)

As long as the 960 gives me the ability to play games at a minimum of 'medium' settings and 720p/60 FPS it's perfect.

Its decent and I actually think the GTX 960 will bottleneck in 720p mate.... Got a 1080p monitor? And get a Gigabyte or Evga card.

I'm using a 32inch TV which I think must have 1080p.

Zotac is fine, Gigabyte is fine. Zotac looks to be slightly cheaper and with a slightly higher clock speed so personally I'd go for the Zotac model.

I just don't trust the brand after I ordered a 660ti back in the day and the fan stopped working and they wouldn't take it in on warranty. but for a 960 get the windforce 3x if possible or Evga

you won't regret it with this cooler

also I think even @Mikal has the 3x Windforce cooler so if you need a review ask him.

I don't know why people are slating the GTS 450. It does absolute wonders for me (maybe because this is my first physical GPU my whole life I had integrated one)

If you buy a Titan X your retarded. Get a 1070 or 1080 and easily outperform + You will bottleneck on anything higher than GTX 970 so i suggest upgrading CPU if your serious
