OK I Used to be one of the guys who would pick on the shall we say "nerdy" people, I've learned though that people like that most the time dont end up where they plan to be. they end up failing a grade or two, getting kicked out of school etc. etc.
I Think you should just focus on your education, If you keep having trouble approach a teacher after class and talk to him about it.
And i cant believe I'm about to say this...but i agree with stiffler.
Stand up for yourself. Some kid called me a fag one day and my response was "why? you interested?" and he shut up.
Just dont take shit from anyone, and don't let them know it bothers you, Walk into school with your head held high.

Well, David, I feel sorry for you, really do. Though, I don't really have any good advice as I've never even been near that kind of position, but the teen years is hard indeed. Stand up for yourself, go out, even if you don't know how you do it. Talk to people who isn't that aggresive, and maybe are more like you. Studying, nice, no thoughts about being the most popular of all the kids, you know. Btw, you'll prolly earn big bucks later on, you'll see mate.

i was like you in year 7. Everyone hated me, i didnt have very friends and i did nothing on weekends
i allways got bullied and got beeten up etc.

all changed, try to get with a few of the people that hate you, like clubs, join a club that they are in, dont talk to them or anything, stick on your own and do well. if you do better than them, they try to stick around with you more cuz youw ill be known as the good one, everyone wants to be friends with someone in high places or exxelent at something.

i was hated, i had like 2 friends in my school.
then i joined my schools local rugby club, this was were all the strong and high people were.
i beeted the shit out of all of them in the tackles, and the tries, i was the new boy that was the best. i was the first player on the A team, after that, i go tmore friends, i started hanging round with more hard nuts and thats were it began.

I do not need a lot of friends, or try to be popular. All I did was being myself, and I did not care if people liked it or not.
This made me uncatchable, as I would never react to bullying tactics, just go my own way.

Invest in you're studies at this time,
Get ready for the future, don't look back, and don't see what you don't have, look on what you do have..

When you'll get a good job, and you'll be friendly, you'll have friends.
If somebody is being friendly with you, and he seems like a nice person, be friend with him, and ignore the bullies...

Man, Has happened to me and still does, dont take no sh*t man i was copping their abuse for about a couple of months or so and then i started karate to help defend me, somebody grabbed me by the neck one day for no reason watsoever and i could beat him. Build up all the rage that they have given you and just unleash it whenever they touch you. They don't really bother me anymore apart from sometimes when they yell out things and hide behind year 12s but other than that its all good.

The best thing about the fights are that you always have a story to tell the principal/coord. You can always say that he abused you and he has been bagging the living hell outta u. That is if the fight gets reported. Not under ANY circumstances go to a teacher that makes everything worse.

Believe me i know what it's like, i was beaten so low and depressed to the biggest length ever i started to feel suicidal, i used to sit in class and just sleep wishing the world would all be over but then when i got some confidence in myself i found that there was much more to learn and live for. Good luck man hope it all gets solved

At school, i'm popular, but i'm in all the top classes, get the good marks, do my homework and all that shit. The key to getting friends is developing a personality that people might find funny, or maybe cute, nice, smart, etc.
I used to be a complete and utter dickhead to everyone, probably because i never developed proper social skills until year 7, but I picked it all up. And I must say, mostly because of the internet. I learnt witty jokes, i developed a "Funny guy" personality, and me being a smart ass to people and not caring what they though has gotten me quickly into the popular group. I'm not dumb, i'm not stupid, but I simply find out which part of me people like, and constantly showcase that part.

If someone messes with you, go to your year/form coordinator, tell them, ask to be anonymous, and if someone confronts you saying "WHAT THE F..K MAN WHY'D YOU TELL ON ME", say "what? i didn't tell on you, why the f..k would i do that"
Or maybe leave a note on your coordinators desk, just do not let yourself keep getting bullied.
I was bullied in: Kinder, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. I know how all this shit is, and it's not good to keep letting it happen.

Also, buy some dumbells and work out every night. Getting me some niiice muscles

I was one of the most popular guys on my  old school, That doesnt mean that im stupid..

Also, if you are good at your class or not doesnt effect the popularity and friends...

A girld, that was the best at grades on school had only 2 friend.. and i got more than 30 in the school.. And im the one of those that dont study...
