I was here at my desk when my doorbell rings. I did not answer as I hate doorsellers or people asking for food or money.
10mins later, I start hearing cardboard noise from the front of the apartment.
I grabbed my flashlight, the heavier thing near my desk. And went to inspect. I was beginning to think that someone was inside and was going through the papers near the hallway desk as there is some money there for payments and such.
When I look through the doorway to the entrance hall. I see that the noise was coming from the door. I figured that it was someone trying to card the lock. The door only had the simple look on.
A bunch of thoughts came through my mind "What if they manage to open I find that I'm here?","Maybe if I catch them off-guard and flash their eyes with the flash light I manage to knock them off."
So I slowly approached the door. Look through the reticle of the door.
 And Bamm!!!, I opened the door suddenly and screammed "KESTA MERDA CARALHO?!?!?"(what the f**k is this shit?!) scaring the shit out of this white thin guy 10cm taller than me.
He put's his cards hand a bit hidden and another in front. He started saying "Is this Rui's house?" and some more bullshit like "I rang the bell".
I kept seeing where his hands was and if he might go for a knife or shit. I screamed "BAZA JÁ!!!", "BAZA JÁ!!!"(get the f**k away!!!) while threating him with the flashlight.
The pitiful realized that I wasn't just a innocent guy and that I knew exactly what he was trying to pull off. I guess he should be happy that he got away with no injuries.

I watch him call the elevator and go down. I closed the door and though about my idiot actions. It wasn't that cleaver to surprise a possibly armed robber.

I don't know what went through my head. Maybe I just wanted some action on my day, a fight or so. Well. I got what I was looking for and got a grin on my face until I started to rethink the stupidity.

In Portugal you can't beat up people just cause they are putting cards and cardboards on you door.
I would definitely beat him if he tried some shit or if he got a foot inside my apartment.

BTW My parents got home. My mom was proud, my dad was calling me an idiot.

you can't do fuck all here, if someone comes on your property robbing your house whilst you're in and you go and shoot them, you get sent to jail for ten years! pffft

I'm not sure, but I think in TX you reserve te right to legally shoot anyone who comes on your property.  :D

In Portugal you can defend yourself only with the same type of weapon that is threatening you.
