Double-click on the "volume" -icon next to the clock. Go to Options -> Properties and choose "Audio Input" for Mixer Device. Make sure you have ticked the "Stereo Mix", and click ok. Untick the "Mute" from Stereo Mix and adjust the volume of it. Go back to Properties and change the Mixer Device back to Audio Output, and click ok. Done.
When you look at the toolbar you can see little sound icon, speaker, right click----recording devices(sorry if im mistaked i have slovak version of vista) then check for your headsets name and configure it. it should work
