I think it's not a lot difference between nVidia an ATI/AMD, sometimes the one is better and sometimes the other.. At the moment I think ATI is better for what you get in price. It also depends on the games, some of them are optimised for a specific manufacturer. It's bullsh*t if you say ATI is crap, if you say you don't like it OK.. Most of the people don't even know a thing about it and yell some stuff.. But OK, I would personally also buy a nVidia card so don't be mad at me

Well, there are a few reasons why I hate ATi.

1) I don't understand the names - they are rather confusing.. like 4480, 6505, 7818, etc.
2) They are essentially the 'cheaper' company, as you said yourself.
3) They have some issues with their drivers.
4) I believe when it comes to the very top gaming cards, nvidia is better than ATi. Niall is looking for an ultimate gaming computer, thus he should choose the best graphic card as it is the most important piece of hardware for a gaming PC.

HD 4890 ~220€    E: Price failed ~200€
GTX 295 ~440€   E: Price failed ~480€
I would buy ATi, because it can do the same with cheaper price, and HD 4770, it's da best.

WTF is this? XP doesn't support two processor at the same time, if you have one processor even with 10 cores, it'll work with XP. Where you need DX10 in games right now? Just wait for newer graphs card and full version of Windows 7, it should have DX11, so no, don't change XP to anything until DX11 arrives.

Sorry for the off-topic, but dude..

I had a 9800GX2 like, AGES(6 months+) ago.. then I upgraded to a GTX 280. I had overclocked the GTX 280, but due to a small mistake it burnt out. Luckily the people that I bought it from (DinoPC) returned me my money, and I bought a GTX 295 for the amount I bought a GTX 280 for. (When I bought my GTX 280, it now costs how much a GTX 295 costs.)

So, stfu?
