Well, there should be something wrong if none does, don't you think?
You're absolutely right. Let's see what JDC has to say on this.

People mourn their lost assets instead of stepping up to take advantage of the new opportunities. If more people stepped up instead of thinking about what they do not have, then the system will get going.

We don't want that. We want the old Argonath and that's that. You will tell us to leave, which is why we haven't been showing much interest. The sad part is, this is going to continue until something is really done.

That's the problem: no one steps up to the plate. This statement covers all sides that are not already present.

People mourn their lost assets instead of stepping up to take advantage of the new opportunities. If more people stepped up instead of thinking about what they do not have, then the system will get going.

Just to clarify, I did not oppose Sforza's loss of official status either, despite being good friends of its leaders. But as I pointed out then, as I am pointing out here, I think the idea is to show the groups that those who will become official are the ones willing to work to maintain their presence as a force to be reckoned with, rather than bank on the laurels of previous achievements and lose the previous momentum they had in forging ahead.

After seeing RS5, I drew a parallel between it and Blackberry; really good hardware that has a hard time getting popular due to a not-so-user-friendly OS.

Personally though, I think the dynamics of the gamemode itself are manageable in the way similar to RS4 once you get used to them. I see more of the complication in the tiny things such as having the simplest functions put in dialog boxes instead of leaving a command form for them too. (as dialog boxes are more practical for tasks with medium to high complexity)
The problem is not that no one wants to steps in to the plate, yet the the system itself. With all do respect to all my friends, scripters, everyone who developed RS5, those are all people who's hard work, deducation, commitment and everything that goes with it I've always respected and always will respect, but the system implemented into the script not only that it doesn't motivate you to step in like you said, yet it dismotivate you.

Like Leon said there's "nothing going on" and the reason are not the people/players and their lack of motivation, creativity etc(which lack of have been a problem even before the RS5), yet this time its only the system itself not the people.

The "omg i lose all i dont wanna play"? Yeah right, you can say that to people/groups like Gvardia who had a lot and lost alot, but what about everyone else? All those new guys, new players, new generations, people who started playing just before rs5 etc How come they not doing anything ? Many of them couldnt waited for all those 'cool properties and turfs etc' to get unowned so they can own it, so why aren't they doing it? Cause they dont give a crap with this much people on and the entire atmosphere, where there's not one semi-serious, semi-professional criminal group around to compare with.

We were warning about this many many many times, but some considered us 'moaners, rulebreakers bad guises' when ever we pointed out the problems and offered our help, solutions suggestions etc, Well Gents you did it exactly the way you wanted it, and this is your result, with no hard feelings or anything personal, and with full respect from me toward the entire scripters and development team, who's fault here is minor, since they were only building a script based on the inputs they received.

Cofiliano basically said everything I needed to say without ripping my own head off by the hair.

There's nothing really inviting for me any more, at least at the moment. The atmosphere has left me so drained but content with my time here, even though I could have spent it being productive... although as some people know, productivity isn't my specialty. I'm constantly low on energy and have absolutely no attention span which I can't really be spending on here. My life is full of ups and downs and I never know when to predict them, so dedication isn't really on the bill from me. I haven't much to complain about however, so I'll just contently step back and watch things happen, waiting for the server to get on its feet before I do too. After all, it'll be no different from when I joined in August of 2009 when everyone had all the good cars and houses...

Before anything else, I would like to think that we can agree to disagree. Nonetheless, let's discuss.

I would acknowledge that this is a problem. However, another problem is that most choose to complain about the first problem instead of acting to solve it.

At this point, I would honestly not have a problem with people who complain that there is barely anyone around to play with, if it were not for the fact that those same people are not doing anything to increase the player count, instead of the opposite.

Change has come. New players, new faces, and (soon) new factions are on the rise. I've already seen a fair share of people who were not around during RS4, yet are working their asses off more than players from "our" generation. Even as a player who always worked for the law enforcement, it still saddens me that regular "street gangstas" have much more criminal presence now than the criminal groups of old. (perhaps exempting Ancelotti, Sforza, and Svensson) Some cops would say it makes the job easier, but for me it just made it more boring.

From a more positive perspective, this should be all the more reason for Gvardia to sweep in and lead the example for other "old" groups, as the circumstances have technically eliminated most of your competition. As an added bonus, you would get to be one of the prime remaining examples of a serious and professional criminal group for all the "new" factions to follow. Why escape when your cumulative experience would be enough to help you build quicker in this new world and become an even bigger institution? This empire could be yours instead of "just one of many".

Even the administration had its own share of reforms. However, one thing I hardly understand would be the line of reasoning based on "we tried to warn you not to do this, yet you did it and look what happened". This is because many of the ideas in the new script (maybe except for the random hospital, which I hate too) were from players themselves.

Unless I haven't been reading enough on recent HQ announcements, the developers have clarified that they are open change and listening to potential improvements. Another problem is that quite some people are fond of portraying the opposite.

My point on this part is that everyone is going through a rough time, even the ones who are working ingame. However, those who just sit back and wait for everything to get on their feet might just find that once the storm clears, someone who worked while the weather was bad will already be standing in the place they wanted.

The most important part is interacting with others and meeting people from around the world.

I don't usually agree with JDC, but:

It lacks alot, shouldn't been published yet. Everybody knew what was going to happen, but they still took the risk. Now they got a other problem then just the bugs in RS5.

After all the time we spent on this server the least we could do is give it a try somehow/sometime, shit I miss the game and the people who were in it, all the good and the bad times. And I'm no gamer and I'm not young as I used to be :D but still...
The only server I played was this one and the only family I was in  was this one so it would be great to see us all up and running again, no mater how silly does that sound.
Cheers

Acting to solve it? You cant solve it unless you're in charge of it. Or the people who are in charge takes a moment to actually hear the ideas, suggestions, and critics.
As soon as you do number 2 you get a msg "If you dont like it leave", even you were known for it JDC.
At this point, I would honestly not have a problem with people who complain that there is barely anyone around to play with, if it were not for the fact that those same people are not doing anything to increase the player count, instead of the opposite.
Gvardia was the only remaining big group on Argonath, who's actions gain the server a constant big number of members/players, and just like everyone else we went off, cause everything about this new situation is wrong, and there's nothing we can do no more about it. So yeah instead of some, we actually were one of the rare who kept the player count up for a long long time for Argonath. We received our reward yeah.
Change has come. New players, new faces, and (soon) new factions are on the rise. I've already seen a fair share of people who were not around during RS4, yet are working their asses off more than players from "our" generation. 1player online atm, and everything you wrote here goes to pieces.
From a more positive perspective, this should be all the more reason for Gvardia to sweep in and lead the example for other "old" groups, as the circumstances have technically eliminated most of your competition. Why escape when your cumulative experience would be enough to help you build quicker in this new world and become an even bigger institution? This empire could be yours instead of "just one of many".
Cause we were forced to. Cause nothing can be done. Cause even if we again for the billion time try something, it will fail soon cause of the system itself.
RS4 was like some bad cheese, with whom we manage to made a fantastic cheesecake, but you cant make a cheesecake out of garbage no matter how much you try. That's the whole point.
Even the administration had its own share of reforms. However, one thing I hardly understand would be the line of reasoning based on "we tried to warn you not to do this, yet you did it and look what happened". This is because many of the ideas in the new script (maybe except for the random hospital, which I hate too) were from players themselves.

None asked any of the offical groups to give their recommendations and opinion on criminal scripts, no one didnt thought about it in letting ARUN step in and help scripters,  even when we tried, and we did many many times, our warnings and suggestions were decline with a answer "If you dont like it leave".
Well guys, no one likes it and everyone did left, and that's it, now you can enjoy it.
