Step One: Download window's recovery console at
http://www.thecomputerparamedic.com/files/rc.isoStep Two: Burn the ISO to a blank cd using a program such as IMGBurn
Step Three: Put the disc in your pc, reboot. When it says "Press any key to boot from CD", press any key.
Step Four: At windows installation screen, press 'R' to start the recovery console.
Step Five: Enter admin password at console. If you have none, just hit enter. Once you're at the command prompt, type bootcfg /rebuild.
Step Six: When you receive the message "
Total Identified Windows Installs: 1
[1] C:\Windows
Add installation to boot list? (Yes/No/All)"
Press Y on the keyboard.
When you receive the message containing "Enter Load Identifier". Depending on your Windows version, type either
Microsoft Windows XP Professional or
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition and press enter.
When you receive a message containing "Enter OS Load options", type /fastdetect, and press enter
Step Seven: Type exit and press enter. Take out the cd and check if windows boots up now.
