Most mafias are like gangs here anyway, they don't really function as a real life mafia, so I would say gang. Gang RP is also the type of RP I prefer.

I thought about back in the day before we started 58th Street, to start something like this:

La Conecta. Just a hispanic criminal organisation with the same culture, way of operating and style as a street gang, but more organised like a mafia. Turned out in just using the name Conecta along with 58th Street, though.
