Recently I sat and wondered many things... among of them, once subject has been the money in SA-MP!
Do we need them? Do they help us at something? What do we gain by them? Why is it worth keeping them?

You see, imagine its a theatre, imagine you're playing the role of a knight, What would you wear? what would you carry?
Some years ago, Roleplay was fun, but also poor in SAMP, Things are getting advanced, now there are new tools, new features that help you roleplay correctly.
Now In Argonath RPG, are those tools for free?
No, because lets say you would like to start your own Italian Family, What do you need to fulfill the norms of an Italian Mafia?!
You need a very luxirious Mansion = $$$
You might need a Casino or a Bistro = $$$
You need a Limousine of your own = $$$
You need to supply guns for your members = $$$

For some of you, players who doesnt do much in the server, especially admins who are mostly busy with their tasks, doesnt make an italian mafia, they dont need the cash maybe, because they simply dont spend it or save it for plans.

Money my friend has a meaning, In Real Life its even worse, how do you expect it to be less worse in a Virtual World?

GTA San Andreas is a game.
GTA San Andreas Multiplayer is also a game, but you could play with real persons.
Argonath RPG, isnt a dating service, its not a School. NO.
> Its a roleplay server, It is public, and has some kind of freedom, that nobody is forced to roleplay, which means you can chat, you can make friends, you can drive a car, you can play with cops, you can shoot, you can buy things ($). Do not forget that you are still playing a game, and if you search for the real meaning of a game, youll find that Stats and Achievements also count.
You see as the example above, you cannot roleplay a Don, with a bat and a Towtruck because its a stat vehicle.

Yes, you can help players, new or old. But help is limited, they're here to play, and so you are. You can help them in million different ways, not with money, because giving them money will just make them lazy bastards who wont be able to roleplay in general after all.

Please this is like a disease, there was never something called " Moneyhungry " in Argonath RPG, its just a kind of words players use as an excuse or as a power to show they're really helping and making efforts etc.. But of course not everyone, there are players who really mean, TheRock certainly, which i respect him for that.

Thanks Seether.

But how to do this when nobody helps them? Don't tell me from Scripted Jobs... Scripted jobs are just for RP mostly... or people who use them.. and go on cop duty, medic duty, fireman duty, hooker or driver duty.. just do it for money... There are only a few people out there who enjoy the RP Jobs & do them without having target the money..

Don't tell me that the jobs offer much... Cop; max 600, Medic.. like Max 120 on a person.. Fireman max is like 3,500 but it's kinda boring to see your self dying cause of the explosions ;P Driver is low also.. only if it happens and you find a good client which gives more than the /setfee..

I did not ask you to give your all money to them.. What I try to get you realize here is that, Beeing social & helpful to others.. even if you give them 2k... even thought help is small.. your effort to help others & make them happy is big enough ;)

This sounds like it's serious, why do we need to serius topics? Just enter the server, play no need for stuff like this.

I got 2 vehicles.. I don't need any more, the rest of the cash I got atm (900k) I just give away to my friends who play here for about 2 months and who needs them.. If I win something in an event I already spent it in a few hours on fun. When I was an newbie, played for about 4 months, money was everything for me. After I had everything that I could own with scripts I was bored, I noticed that I just came into the server for an hour to drive around, be suspect, get killed, and so each day, that's one of the reasons I left, I gave all my money away, now IRL I got my grades up, fixed problems and more, I returned and now, in a few weeks earned about a million again on events. And guess what, after 1 week it was already gone, I gave it to friends as stated above who are new and really need it, Edvard_Collins for example, I don't care for money anymore at all, just to have fun with TCL, Araatus and all the other players.

This sounds like it's serious, why do we need to serius topics? Just enter the server, play no need for stuff like this.

I think you didn't understand it. Read again carefully.

And I will say it once again,
Simply giving new players money to "help them" will make them lazy and not know how to really earn money, thus creating beggars.
Show them some RP and get them to RP then give them money as a form of "reward".

If you want to help players, teach em the basics of Argonath RPG, how to do this and how to do that. Help them know about the rules and regulations, help them " Get Started ", the other part should be from their own effort, let him be a player of his own values.

Now that saunds right,if you want to help them train them, giving money away will NOT solve anything.

Everybody should decide what to do with their own money, but giving it to new players who are a day old and who use it for weps, just a waste of time and money.
As for the rest.. What Panda said!  :)

Shit, Why do you think I am broke now? All i used to do was give out Cash to random people and make events.
I had almost 2 Mil, and i gave it all away and used it to start events. Not I am down to 150K.

Money has never been a priority for me, Maybe because i used to have a lot of it. Even now when I am down to a smaller amount, I never use it like that. Hell, I own 1 car, no House or Business. After my house was removed i never got one, My business was given to JEmerson ,Which he owes me 500K from that, But since he is banned I won't get it back ;). But the point is, Money is not needed to play here. I am a breathing example of that.

I get by fine without it.

Please talk about yourself, ive already mentioned it, it varies from players goals and roles. You're a cop right? You for example dont need money, but a Mobster does.

This thing about giving away your cash and being so helpful, doing events etc.. doesnt make you genereous, you said it yourself.

And yes you do not give a damn about having a house or a business, because you simply do not use a house or business, you spend most of your time driving a free police cruiser, with free Deagle and a spray can, its like 10% i see you off duty, stading at Pershing square. No offense but as i said, everyone has his own purpose, and you're not everyone.

+1

that what i wanted to say, i gave a lot of money to new players, i mean friends they were new players at argonath, i gave them but after 3 hours asking me again, can you give a little more cash :) '' i asking them where you spent your money they telling me on weapons, asking him how you die, cops killing me didnt had chance to /gu please please, and why i should give them money for weapons ? and Rock ask your self is anyone gave you money when you started?
you should think that before make this topic, but what ever i am not against help to new players there is also /ask the new awesome command, which the new players can ask how to make money.

Also making lotto's or events or what ever? I will make an lotto, so whats up if someone old wins ? or event example?
And i really dont care if you think that i am selfish , but just to tell you, on start only one man helped me to get up Seether i was selling to him drugs and it was really fun, he gave me money, and i will give to him if he needs, but he got enough i guess and he dont ask me for that,

Though i waited this topic long time.

If money is not a big deal in argonath, then the developers would spawn all new players with $1,000,000 in their Bank account. Many players sit on their asses and beg for money, instead of working for it. No one never gave me a handout. nor have I had to ask for one. I understand your point is to be generous or helpful to new players, but instead of giving them free money, we need to teach the players the concept of roleplaying so they can go out and make their own money. There is a saying that "if you give a man a fish, he eats for a day, but if you teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime."
