"This is not a DM server" - Message

I just thought of an idea that could be implemented fairly quickly.

Most of the servers on VC:MP seem to be DM based, and the RPG ones are in the minority. From what I have seen new players that come into the server naturally tend to deathmatch, expecting it to be allowed as usual to them - resulting in warnings/kicks, even though they didn't actually mean to break rules.

Just to solve this would it be a good idea to have an annoucement, or simply an automatic green text that states something along the lines of; "Welcome to Argonath RPG. Please refrain from deathmatching, as this is a roleplay based server."?

Hopefully this will get the message across, saving Admin and player time (and headache  :razz:).

What if they can't speak English? Since half the VCMP doesn't.

Well, one of the server rules is that English must be spoken in the public chat, being international.

And I think half is slightly too high. Perhaps not as a first language.  :razz:

this is what i will do.
I am gonna translate "Hello" in 6-10 different languages.Then when he/she respond in that language.Then I would put up "No Deathmatching on this server" In their language.Then what ever they say i will mute and translate to say  "English please".

A lot of players have trouble with English. Once they understand what your saying, its ok.
Just a simple </c spanish> which says "No DM and you must speak English" in Spanish would be pretty useful.

Polish/russian,Spanish,Portuguese should be used for that.And tbh,Turks arent rare there as well.

To get these /c commands done in the proper language,we should help

E.G.:

• Denlow could translate it to slovakian
• Alarba could translate it to Portoguese and llama'ish
• I could translate it to Turkish and German
• Russian could be done by the help of another Player.
• (French could be translated by me. )

Only remainings are : Russian and Spanish (french too actually)
Russian - If it's close to slovakian,Denlow could give it a try.
Spanish - the same with Portuguese.Jay,Leo,Alarba, ...
French - Lets get daco!

well, i noticed that theres a pretty respective number of people from israel in vcmp, so i can translate it to hebrew
i can also help translating it to arabic, and french

Yea, the language idea would be pretty good.

If we had the generic "No DM/English" message, as well as the translated forms, that'd be useful.
If needed, I can do French and I have learned some Spanish (along with some other languages, but we probably won't need those right now).

VCMP's population by countries actually goes more like this:
India
Poland
UK
Brazil
Spain
Portugal

You only seem to notice the Spanish more, as they never seem to be educated in English that well compared to the other countries :conf:
