He later said Edward is not at fault at all, making your quote completely useless.

That is right, Gandalf made his descision. And you can not override that, how much you want it.

Quote from: Violet
The admins are the players responsible for the prevention of script abuse, not the FBI.

As much as I hate giving bits and pieces of info from the FBI forums, let alone a restricted High-Ranked board, this should be enough to clear the abuse question for everyone.

Quote from: Gandalf
Hydra should not be given the chance to be abused

As the FBI have access to the hydra, it means that they also have the responsibility to ensure that it does not get abused. Admins are not the only people on the server who possess responsibilities.

For a comparison criminals can relate with... it is like the rights to command the members of a criminal group. Sensible leaders don't hand out their group's authoritative positions to just anyone, let alone people who they know will use it to order the group's junior members to go on a DM spree.

Lastly, I stated that Flak's intentions were malevolent as he himself admitting to intent to use the hydra, in order to shoot at the owner and help his criminal friends... no one else knew what he could have done afterwards had Edward not removed it.

While Edward was in mistake by leaving his hydra unattended, he managed to prevent further abuse by removing it via script. Notice how the people supporting Flak stealing a hydra are the ones who would probably use it for DM purposes or revenge on cops.

The most important part is interacting with others and meeting people from around the world.

Since the hydra is entirely a DM tool, I fail to see how anyone could use it for anything except DM purposes.
And yes, of course we would use it against the cops, I thought that was a given.

Anyway, this topic ended a long time ago. Gandalf pointed out who was at fault, and that was the end of it.

What I'm wondering is why he would use a Hydra in a barricaded suspects situation.

When a suspect passes by a cop and goes out of his way to kill the cop "because he was close enough to be a threat", it's self-defense.
When a hydra blasts down a legitimate target, it's DM and abuse.

Yeah...

And yes, of course we would use it against the cops, I thought that was a given.

I'm not sure about the SAPD, but FBI doesn't use the hydra on every damned orange dot. Your confession is one of the prime reasons why it's even restricted in the first place.

But anyways, my last post in this topic.

Why should an FBI agent be able to evade the immediate consequences of his fuck-up, but nobody else can? Obviously, he's going to get his ass whooped by FBI staff, but he never suffered the consequences at the situation itself.

I leave my car unattended a lot and it gets stolen. Please give me ability to despawn it any time I want.

Cant they lock them? Anyways, bringing a hydra to a situation like this only shows the FBI's "professionalism". Good english grammar, long training and pretty hard to become a member of does not make them professional when it is needed. Also what Edward did was stupid.

The Hydra is a public vehicle (spawnable) so that means it's not lock-able (Unless with admin command, but that would be abuse)
Private Vehicle owners have the ability to ensure the safety of their vehicle via 2 ways; Either /carlock = Locks driver spot, or /carlock 2 (or /carlock2)
Car lock 2 does lock the vehicle entirely so nobody can get in even from passenger seats ;)

That is what I have to ask Edward.

I guess he was patrolling in it, when the call came in?

Why should he even patrol in a mass destruction weapon?

He can do like everyone else, get a bloody car. FBI Rancher, FBI Premier or his own vechiles since FBI are allowed to use them.

So, what we've concluded from this.

If any FBI agent fucks up, leaving the hydra open, and someone takes it, they aren't allowed to abuse the command as stated by Gandalf, but the cops are still like 'nah bro, it's not even abuse he could've dmed with it' No shit sherlock. What Flaken did was normal and he should've shot the fuck out of every person at the scene.

First time I go back on a "last post" post.

So, what we've concluded from this.

What Flaken did was normal and he should've shot the f**k out of every person at the scene.

Why should an FBI agent be able to evade the immediate consequences of his f**k-up, but nobody else can? Obviously, he's going to get his ass whooped by FBI staff, but he never suffered the consequences at the situation itself.

I leave my car unattended a lot and it gets stolen. Please give me ability to despawn it any time I want.

So I take it both of you endorse malevolent abuse of the hydra by Flaken who will use it to DM plenty of people on the server?

That's exactly what the dump commands were made for.

JDC, bro, you have yet to realize you can't abuse a command like that, it's script abuse = ban. You can't just go "Well, I f**ked up, now to abuse a command to make it better'. It's Edwards fault he left it unattended and he had to suffer the consequences. but, he abused a command and now he seems to be in more shit.

I hope the FBI will severely punish the agent for letting a Hydra unattended, thus needing to activate the cloaking device to protect from civil use. Loss of his spawn rights would be appropriate.

Not letting the Hydra be abused means a pilot should be present in it and active at all time. Dumping it because you fail is script abuse.
