Evening, morning and afternoon Hi all.

Over the next few weeks I'll be looking to make some changes. From a high level:

• Recruiting new controllers
• Reviewing the ATC guidelines
• Making in-roads with other organisations
• Getting some publicity for the /pilot chat

Recruiting new controllers
I appreciate we haven't brought in much new blood, and so we don't have much of a presence. I'll be looking to bring in some more ATC's to address this and get the ball rolling again.

Reviewing the ATC guidelines
This will include our front-facing topic. A real-life system may be excellent, but also unrealistic to ask for in a game. The emphasis will be placed on common sense, fun, and clear English, rather than code and protocol.
I see the radio as a tool for RP, and not just professionalism (if the situation calls for it).

Making in-roads with other organisations
We've had some good links in the past, with excellent organisations. Let's get that going again. This may include new introductions to the ATC team to help maintain those links.
It's all about RP, so any group we can share RP with is welcome.

Getting some publicity for the /pilot chat
It doesn't appear to be used as much as it used to be. I'm hoping to raise awareness of the feature, and get "our people to talk to their people". I'm sure there's still a lot of gleeful pilots in Argonath. Let's find them!

We are the Authority maintaining the skies of Argonath, after all 


My activity has been appalling over the past couple of years, and frankly I'm marvelling that I'm still a Director of this group. I'd like to apologise for that.
I'll be maintaining a much more solid presence on these forums over the coming weeks and months, and will be in-game as and when time permits, to run the above initiatives and see how it goes.

What I'll need from you is solid performances - If you see someone in the /pilot chat, please do engage them and make them welcome (common sense and fun over code and procedures). If you are flying, use the /pilot chat and engage with another ATC.

Remember, keep that "/atcradio on" and be a decent "/pilot".

Being a pilot has been my life long dream, watching the birds in the skies, seeing how they coordinate with almost nothing because it is natural to them, but for us it's different, we need someone looking over us, telling us what is happening and what we should be doing, I have always admired the ATC members talking to us in the pilot radio, and I think I could become one of them.

What I suggest you do is get involved in some /pilot RP, and perhaps get to know some of our members. I don't know a lot of people all that well anymore, so may be relying on some of their feedback to help me.

I'll remind you whilst I'm here that you won't necessarily get accepted or denied - We prefer to wait until people are ready, and once they are we'll bring them in.

I do seem to have a knack of saying I'm back, then disappearing for between 12 months and 1 year, so...

Some confirmed inactivity between 28/04/2016 and 04/05/2016, give or take a few days, as I'm having some surgery. Initial recovery for this one is approx. 7 days so I'll see how it goes.
