While I was working on a few VC:MP related things I thought of something that might be quite interesting.

Currently there is no specific clan/family group support in-game; and of course, gang HQs are for groups that actively work as a criminal organisation of some sort.   

Just to weigh up the balance and to provide more server features for active clans, how about introducing a Clan HQ system? Before I go further, this would *not* be a system that allows clans to store and arm weapons in any form - but more so a system that could work as a clan bank perhaps, where clan members could deposit money for the use of the clan. The clan could choose to invest the money accordingly, depending on how they operate; whether it be towards businesses, events, properties or weapons (from weapon dealers such as the Ammunation).

Similarly, though on a different scale, it could be set up that businesses owned by clan members could have their earnings sent directly to the clan bank, rather than having them left at a pickup. Such features would be optional of course, and certain constraints may be needed which control who can withdraw from this bank.

This would hopefully add more purpose to clan HQs, and possibly open up the clan world a little bit more.

Are there even clans on the server? I only know criminal groups (IT etc) and cop groups (WS etc)

WS is a clan. :P
Currently it seems to be the only one that still has a fair number of people in VC:MP.

I've noticed that many people go for gangs/criminal organisations due to the fact that they can get weapons, directly from their HQ.
It seems a bit outweighed that clans don't have an equivalent feature to support them in-game.
This might work, as it isn't anything like a gang HQ as such.

Erm.. not really.. People join groups if they have friends there. TBH Legend, gang HQs has very little to do with the success of criminal groups lately. It's mainly because EAF and IT members are active. People play with them, make friends with them, then maybe join their group. If clans are not doing so well, well then they're either not active or no one likes em'.

Guess what, all that's left on VC streets besides of cars is madness. Why? Gang members are more active than your fellow VCPD. Unless few cops go for monies and kill some criminals, the city is full of shooters there and there.

And guess what, about 40% of my members weren't given HQ access - not because I didn't like to give 'em it, but because they just never partially noticed it, or mind - or just didn't use it at all.
Streets are full of dead cops, prolly it's from where everyone gets their guns.

Also no, criminals don't join gangs to get guns from HQs. They join them because either they are hungry for some gang-RPing or just like gang-theme at all, or it's just because IT and EAF ROFLSTOMP the cops. Often.
Until 2.0 cames out cops can be considered less respected than criminals. They don't do shit and get monies no matter how much times they die, after getting lucky and killing a criminal. Naturally there are some exceptions of cops who don't do their jobs for money (like pumba always do,  yes I remember your DMing ass) but for fun and cause they like cop-background more than criminal background. Or, because they're butt-hurt after getting kicked from a gang - like Sandisk125.

Anyways, this idea doesn't make sense.
Here's what you should do
1. Make account named [WS]COPRETIREMENTFUNDS
2. Ask ppl from ur clan to send their monies to that acc
3. Share the password
4. ???
5. Profit

Why does the police-criminal thing have to come up everywhere?

This is nothing to do with cops - this is about roleplay groups (namely clans/families) for starters. :)

As for ARPD/VCPD - there is one big difference about TAC, IT, EAF, WS and AR-VCPD.
The ARPD is something official, not set up by one or two players last month, or anything on the same lines as clans and criminal groups. It makes up an official part of Argonath, and consists of a mixture of players - each of whom would have their own separate groups/individual roles that they also take part in.

I really don't see why there is so much discouragement towards it. Originally seemed to start off as a joke, but at the end of the day we are not against each other aside from the realms of roleplay. If we let ARPD die, we shall just lose an integral part of Argonath. There would be little going for the police role without criminals, and likewise, very little going towards the criminal role without cops.
If we really think about it, none of the little server features, the groups, clans or individual status really matter so much, as we are one community. It's not going to work without the players.

Clan and Gang HQs - I've had a handful of people ask me if they can get guns from the WS HQ when applying; it does seem to be a pull factor.
As criminal groups have direct script support, it would be cool if clans had their own specialised version, right?

I, personally, see no problem with the idea except for the "clan bank" system. Clan/gang leaders should be able to give certain members access to that, because we don't need new members withdrawing ZOMGCRAPLOADS money because they think it's a free-for-all.

Argonath RPG has became a massive DM server, i can't believe why only criminals can have an HQ, and now its about cop hunting and cops vs. robbers..
Everytime i'm on cop's duty i find a "gang member" shooting me for no valid reasons, i guess every cop has a paper on his back saying "shoot me lololol".

You clowns come into our headquarters for fun, with guns drawn out and no warrant and expect to be welcomed by a cup of tea?

Also a wanted gangster won't be polite as your dog while feeding it, he's suspossed to be totally conscious about any cops near, especially if he's wanted - or if you lag as well

Seriously? Legend suggested a new script about making a clan bank, where all we'd get is the money from businesses directed transferred to it, and then you start talkinga about how ARPD is dead and criminals rulez0r? Enough off-topic.

Supported, won't give clanmembers ANY FORM of advantage against other people.

Legend tried to 'hit' a point about criminals joining gangs for the gang HQs - I know he meant that it is one of those attitutes the gangs have do, but I seem to misunderstood it and thought he means criminals join gangs ONLY for gang HQs so I kept going on ARPD in my opinion (which was pretty true opinion imo)

Anyways - I guess I support the idea, it just makes things less complicated and isn't really any advantage, just makes organising less difficult

It just adds an extra level to clan HQs, as in my opinion they should get a little something, as criminal ones already do.
Here I'm not necessarily talking about weapons - for obvious reasons, of course.
